Sweden - Edsbyns Ljudteknik of Edsbyn, Sweden, has become the first European sound rental company to invest in the new-generation Renkus-Heinz PN102LA Line Array system, unveiled at the PLASA and New York AES 2003 shows. Company founder Bosse Davidsson has worked with sound rentals and installations since 1985, and first used Renkus-Heinz PA and monitor systems in 1990, as well as loudspeaker systems from other manufactures.

When the commercial climate made an investment in line array technology a 'must', Davidsson immediately opted to audition the new, compact PN102LA: "I am very satisfied with all loudspeakers from Renkus Heinz; it doesn't matter if it's a live concert or an installation, the results are always good."

Renkus-Heinz lent the company a complete system for field trials at two major concerts this autumn, he says. "The result was very, very good - the PNX 102LA and the D26A loudspeaker controller, with four 2 x 18 Renkus-Heinz subwoofers, have the best sound I've ever heard," said Davidsson. The company placed on order with Renkus-Heinz's Swedish distributor, TTS Scandinavia, for 10 PN102LA cabinets, two flybars and one D26A digital system controller.

With a wide variety of rental work ranging from gospel and symphonic concerts to rock and soul concerts, typically for 300 up to 5000 people, versatility and audio quality were the key elements in his decision. Adds Davidsson: "I went for the system not only for its great sound but also for its simplicity both regarding setup and configuration. This Line Array system is absolutely the most complete system for every different kind of production."
