Orbital's easiHire team
UK - Orbital Sound is highlighting a line-up of new products from its extensive portfolio of international brands at ABTT 2011 in London this week.

On display is the new two-channel HME DX210 digital intercom system, as well as intercom systems from Clear-Com, with the brand now exclusively distributed in the UK by Orbital and being shown on its stand for the first time. From Zaxcom, Orbital is demonstrating the company's third-generation TRX900LT digital wireless transmitter, complete with new user-selectable filters that emulate a more traditional analogue sound when required, without losing all the benefits of digital transmission and clarity.

Orbital is also highlighting the extensive T-Series line arrays from d&b audiotechnik, as an authorised sales and installation partner, together with the new White Range product lines.

Added to these curtain-raisers is the newly rebranded Que Audio Performance Series miniature microphones - the flexible and resilient Da-Cappo Micro Microphones in a new livery - as well as the latest generation of the CSC Audio Playback & Show Control software. Orbital is also focusing on its associated theatre sound consultancy services, across Noise@Work assessments, and theatre sound training.

For Orbital's MD Chris Headlam, ABTT provides an important opportunity to present the company's expanding sales portfolio, commenting: "We have our most comprehensive-ever array of leading brands and new products this year, with the Clear-Com range representing a particularly important addition.

"Among the other products, the new HME DX210 is an impressive system - operating in the 2.4GHz band, it exhibits the legendary capabilities of the DX200, and delivers exceptional sound clarity. Zaxcom's TRL900LT is a third-generation fully mature design - up there with the best in terms of performance, resilience and quality. With its tube-mode functionality, it provides digital synthesis that can deliver a more analogue sound in controlled stages - you simply flick a switch to make it sound exactly how you want, whilst still retaining the multiple digital advantages, such as improved battery life, RF integrity and sonic clarity.

"Orbital's other big news is our recent contract with Shure Distribution UK, for some 500 channels of its high performance UHF-R wireless microphones systems. Putting us in a strong position of readiness for Channel 38, the contract includes the UR1M micro bodypack transmitters and, later this year, Shure's recently-launched Axient range."

Orbital's online easiHire rental service is open for business at ABTT, with rental desk assistant Lucy Jenkins on hand alongside rental manager Phil Dormer to demonstrate easiHire - which offers 24/7 access to all the information needed to assemble a rental quotation.
