CMT Music Award winner Megan Moron
USA - Bandit Lites is providing the lighting for country singer Megan Moroney’s upcoming performances. The singer-songwriter went viral for Tennessee Orange, her ode to a beau that has her questioning her loyalty to Georgia’s Bulldogs.
The music video for her debut Top 20 hit soared with 4m+ views in two months, culminating in Moroney being crowned the winner of the Breakthrough Female Video of the Year category at the 2023 CMT Music Awards on 2 April.
"Thank you CMT so much," said Moroney said while accepting her award at the CMT Awards. "Thank you to my fans. I wouldn't be up here if it wasn't for you all. Thank you to the incredible video team at Columbia for putting this together the day after Christmas. Thank you to the director, Jason Lester for really bringing my ideas to life in this video."
Bandit Lites chair and founder Michael T. Strickland immediately recognised the star power of Moroney’s endearing lyrics and soon connected with her and her manager Juli Griffith of PunchBowl Entertainment. Both were Strickland’s guest in the Bandit skybox at Neyland Stadium to watch the Tennessee Vols play Kentucky. Moroney later interviewed Strickland on the Red Carpet at the 2022 CMA Awards as he was presented the CMA Humanitarian Award.
Following the release of her debut album Lucky on 5 May, Moroney will be appearing as a special guest on long time Bandit client Brooks & Dunn’s 2023 Reboot Tour carrying a lighting package provided by Bandit.
“All it takes is seeing Megan one time to fall in love with her amazing voice, sparkling personality and pure charisma,” said Strickland. “Megan is destined to be a superstar. Few people have all the pieces of the picture to succeed, but Megan simply does. We look forward to a long run together.”
