ISE 2017: Genelec focus on AoIP technologyThe 8430A IP is the world's first commercially available AoIP monitor speaker
The Netherlands - Genelec will be showcasing its audio-over-IP (AoIP) solution on stand 3-A119 at Integrated Systems Europe 2017. Genelec will demonstrate an array of its 8430A IP studio monitors using an AES67 stream, which will be played through multiple AoIP-systems using Ravenna, LiveWire+ and Dante protocols. The showcase will allow visitors to get to grips with the technology and highlight the flexibility offered by Genelec's solution.

"At Genelec we feel that it is important to highlight the real-life benefits of the 8430A IP and the open standard AES67, and what it now offers," says Siamäk Naghian, managing director, Genelec. "AoIP has been a hot topic in the industry for years and we are excited to now be able to fully demonstrate the 8430A IP monitor in action on multiple AoIP systems using an array of standards. The fact that AES67 is fully compatible with these existing standards as well as dedicated AES67 compatible devices such as the 8430A IP provides unprecedented levels of flexibility, scalability and interoperability in audio networking systems."

AoIP technology allows the streaming of high resolution audio via Cat Ethernet cable, and eliminates the need for proprietary cabling solutions. Since its launch, the AES67 standard has been embraced by the industry, and is compatible with audio networking systems such as Ravenna, Livewire+ and Dante. Genelec demonstrated its first audio-over-IP showcase system in ISE 2010, and it has remained at the forefront of innovation in this sector with continued research and development into the technology.

The 8430A IP is the world's first commercially available AoIP monitor speaker. Based on the Ravenna protocol, the 8430A IP delivers potential benefits for IP networked audio systems in a wide array of professional and AV applications music studios, post-production houses, digital edit suites, radio, TV and outside broadcasting applications.

As a member of the SAM (Smart Active Monitor) family, the 8430A IP works with the intuitive Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM 2.0) control network and software which allows adjustments of all aspects of monitor settings and full system control. As a central part of GLM, Genelec AutoCal automatically ensures every monitor on the network is aligned for level, timing, as well as compensation of room response anomalies.
