Are you looking for an exciting and stimulating career move but are not sure where to go next?

If you’re a production manager, a construction manager with experience of delivering performing arts buildings, a theatre technician with an electrics or audio-visual background, a stage lighting or sound designer, an automation designer or scenic draughtsperson, a rigger, a set designer or an architect with proven experience in designing arts related or live events spaces - and you have experience of CAD software packages - we’d love to hear from you!

We are seeking to recruit talented and self-motivated people from the performing arts, live events and architectural industries to work on the most innovative performing arts construction projects in the world.

We have forthcoming Theatre Consultant opportunities in our UK Theatre Design, Stage Lighting, Stage Engineering and Audio-Visual Systems Design disciplines, and are inviting applications from candidates on a full time, part time or freelance basis (you can state your preference within your application).

Charcoalblue is the world’s leading multi-national theatre, acoustic, and digital design consultancy. As consultants, we act as the conduit between our performing arts/event space clients and the architectural and construction industries, translating clients’ briefs into built reality to create the most exciting performing arts spaces in the world!

Founded in 2004, we have studios in London, Bristol, Glasgow, New York and Melbourne and our team works flexibly, predominantly from home, to effectively service our international project portfolio across multiple time zones. Our studio spaces are available to employees and clients as collaborative, social spaces, with quiet working areas if required.

As theatre consultancy is a specialised field, we will provide training as needed – all we ask from you is relevant experience in at least one of the above fields - plus drive, enthusiasm, and a commitment to learning.
