The systems proved themselevs at a host of concerts and corporate events
Germany - Last year the Bremen-based service provider AVM Veranstaltungstechnik, chose to make a significant investment in Coda Audio systems. The company, led by managing director, Jens Wiegandt, took delivery of a range of sound reinforcement, including the compact arena line array AiRAY system, SCP-F subwoofers, APS (Arrayable Point Source), APS-SUBs, as well as LINUS DSP loudspeaker management amplifiers.
In the months before the Coronavirus pandemic struck, the systems had provided sound at top events such as the Summertime@Norderney and Tabularazza festivals, as well as at a host of concerts and corporate events.
“In the first instance, we chose Coda because we consider them to be a very technically innovative company. We were impressed by the excellent sound characteristics and high output they achieve from such compact and lightweight systems,” commented Matthias Kühl, sales and marketing mangager at AVM.
When it came to investing in audio technology again, the AVM team did not hesitate. This time the focus was on Coda’s N-RAY system. Following a trial of the system at Sixdays Bremen cycling event at the OVB Arena in January this year, the decision to purchase was taken immediately. Head of Sound, Niklas Hinsch said, “The output of these extremely compact speakers is unrivalled.”
In addition to a complete N-RAY system comprising 72 loudspeakers, AVM also purchased further Coda Audio products, among them, the 15-inch Low Frequency Extension SCN-F and loudspeakers from the HOPS-Series (passive 2-way High Output Point Source) compatible with N-RAY.
The onset of the Coronavirus pandemic delayed N-RAY’s next appearance for AVM until October, when the Volksbank staged a corporate event at the Three-Fields Sportshall in Rheden. AVM deployed eight N-RAY per side, ensuring complete coverage and most importantly, flawless voice reproduction. Matthias Kühl noted, “The event was a complete success - the customer was extremely satisfied with the sound and the high resolution speech intelligibility.”
Kühl concludes, “Every crisis also offers opportunity, so we’re taking on the current situation and have already found some good solutions and approaches to staying operational, and bringing colleagues back from short-time working. There will be hardly any major events in the next six months - the market will concentrate on hybrid events because special times call for special measures. We’re prepared for this, and with an inventory of 170 Coda Audio speakers and 23 amplifiers, are perfectly equipped for the restart.”
