The Rogue R2X Wash was developed in response to recent advance in LED lamp technology
USA - The new Rogue R2X Wash fixture from Chauvet Professional which debuts at this year’s LDI show is an updated version of the popular Rogue R2 Wash and was developed in response to a very recent advance in LED lamp technology.
“We recognised the potential of the new generation of LEDs that Osram is developing, so we made a commitment to updating our fixtures to incorporate this technological advance,” said Albert Chauvet, CEO of Chauvet.
Drawing on this new technology, the Rogue R2X Wash is almost twice as bright as the Rogue R2 Wash when producing a single colour, and 20-perecent brighter at full output. This brightness boost has been achieved without changing the fixture’s DMX profile and with no changes to its popular form factor.
The Rogue R2X Wash is powered by 19 of the new Osram 25W RGBW LEDs. This engine produces a brightness of 8,650 lux measured at 5m. Thanks to a calibrated white mode that has been added to the new fixture, its output is balanced to roughly 7,000k when it is brought up to full intensity.
Another new enhancement to the fixture is the addition of RDM. The Rogue R2X Wash also makes it possible for users to set their own calibration via the fixture’s menu, so they can match its output to other lights in their rig. Additionally, five zones of pixel control allow users to create stunning pixel mapping effects.
“Our industry is technology driven,” said Chauvet. “As a company, we can never stand still. This is the driving force behind the Rogue R2X Wash.”
