LiveTec's John Rousselet and Michael Burger with the GEN VI modules from LSC Control Systems.
Germany – LiveTec GmbH, one of Germany’s leading full-service event technology and production specialists, has recently invested in 16 GEN VI power and dimming modules from Australian manufacturer LSC Control Systems, sourced via the company’s exclusive distributor for Germany, LMP Lichttechnik.
Headquartered in Munich, and with branches in Berlin and Kirchberg (near Kitzbühel, in Austria), LiveTec has over 25 years of experience in the production industry, with a focus on the corporate event sector, and has relied on LSC dimming solutions, and its sales partner LMP, for many years. The company had been using the previous model from LSC since 2015, and in 2022 decided that the time had come to upgrade to the new version. The 16 new, advanced GEN VI dimmers have been successfully deployed by LiveTec at trade fairs, film premieres, fashion shows and congresses since November 2022.
The GEN VI from LSC – billed as “a new era in power and dimming control” – offers customers a device that can be used both as a dimmer and as a power distributor. Each channel can be configured separately as a real TruPower relay, for the safe supply of power to a variety of equipment including moving lights and LED fixtures, or as an 8-bit or 16-bit dimmer. Using the Auto Power function, the channels configured as TruPower can be set to switch on automatically as soon as a DMX signal is detected, and off again when it stops.
LiveTec’s joint managing directors, Michael Burger and John Rousselet, were won over by this versatility of the GEN VI, as well as its intuitive and logical usability, and its excellent cost-effectiveness. “The GEN VI is a device for many different tasks,” says Rousselet, explaining the investment decision. “Added to this is its high reliability due to residual current selectivity per channel or protection through the use of separate RCBOs.”
He adds: “We use the GEN VIs as power distributors at trade fairs or for LED walls, as switchpacks for power distribution for moving lights and LED spotlights – or as a classic dimmer for incandescent spotlights. Thanks to the individual RCBOs, there is maximum residual current selectivity and thus maximum fail-safety. That’s why we’ve decided once again to expand our inventory of these versatile devices. We live multifunctionality!”
In conclusion, Rousselet says: “The recent investment shows that we are very satisfied with the LSC products. The same applies to the long-term cooperation with LMP Lichttechnik.”
