USA - Lectrosonics, together with a number of dealers, industry manufacturers and end-users, has been spearheading a social media campaign to emphasise that no matter the medium, sound is critical.
The company has now announced the winners of the Sound is Essential creativity contest - Michael Wynn; Sound Speeds/Allen Lee Williams; Curtiss Judd and Siddharth Sadashiv.
Michael Wynn of Michael Wynn Sound has been named the first place winner, for his video reflecting on the variety of events which have taken place during 2020 and how sound truly played an essential part of each of them. See the video here: https://youtu.be/Fzed1XVpSNM.
Sound Speeds/Allen Lee Williams took second place by showing how just essential sound is with his video that is much more important to listen to than to watch.
Tied for third prize are Curtiss Judd and Siddharth Sadashiv. Curtiss Judd’s video on YouTube tells you that nothing is wrong with the sound on your device and shows us how sound is essential by what we are missing. Siddharth Sadashiv’s humorous video shows us just how much the absence of sound brings about an almost physical reaction.
Lectrosonics would like to thank the pro audio dealers including Gotham Sound, Location Sound Corp., Second City Sound, Raycom UK, Radikal Elektronik, and Trew Audio for their spirited entries. Lectrosonics also thanks manufacturers Calrec, DPA, Schoeps GmbH, Halter Technical, Viviana Straps, Bubblebee Industries, Dynaudio Pro, Voice Technologies, and K-Tek, along with all the other individual pro audio and location sound practitioners and users for their enthusiastic participation in #soundisessential.
“We have been very excited about the participation and enthusiastic response to Sound is Essential that we have received from so many people,” says Karl Winkler, vice president of marketing & sales for Lectrosonics. “We hope that others will continue to join us in spreading the message about the importance of sound, which should always get equal billing, equal care, and equal attention in any production.”
