USA - Trilogy Studios in Fort Worth, the largest cinematic volume in Texas, is a 30,000sq.ft facility with three advanced stages: a main stage, a car-processing stage for automotive shoots and a commercial stage.

During the design phase, Trilogy Studios collaborated with specialist integrators Optic8, and lead engineer Roman Schoissengeier-Nagel, to bring to life a complex virtual production infrastructure. Stage Precision's SP software was chosen for its ability to deliver seamless, scalable, and unified data management across all three stages, equipping Trilogy Studios with the tools needed to offer clients an innovative and adaptable virtual production environment.

"The focus was on creating a unified control solution across all three stages," explains lead engineer Roman Schoissengeier-Nagel. "Each stage required high-precision camera tracking an

Belgium - The Royal Conservatory of Antwerp has upgraded its lighting infrastructure with a Unity solution from LSC Control Systems, drawing on the experience of its partner facility – and one of Europe’s leading performing arts venues – De Singel.

Undertaking a full renovation of its Zwarte Zaal (Black Hall) – including new grid, cabling, patch racks, audio, data, video and lighting – led by main construction contractor Co-Ps, the Royal Conservatory insisted on quality, reliability and safety. To achieve this with new lighting infrastructure, they turned to De Singel, expert consultant Roadtech Services, and the technology of LSC Control Systems.

It was way back in 2018 that De Singel installed a Unity system from LSC in its main auditorium. At the time, the busy venue was having difficulty dealing with large amounts of varying types of li

UK - Part of the Merlin family who operate predominantly in the South-West, the 500-capacity Regal Theatre in Redruth occupies a 1930s art deco building, doubling between cinema and live events.

Local contractors, TruCru, were brought in recently to overhaul the theatre PA, replacing an archaic system with a Martin Audio FlexPoint solution. As a community facility, the new PA needed to demonstrate the versatility to cater for a wide variety of shows – ranging from am dram, touring tribute acts, operatic societies and nationally recognised stand-up comedians, with a high SPL. Most importantly, it needed to banish the pre-existing hotspotting that was evident in a challenging building with a balcony tier and an acoustically difficult ‘stepped’ ceiling above.

While TruCru have had widespread experience specifying the manufacturer’s popular CDD s

France - Val Thorens' renowned nightclub, Malaysia, has undergone a €2.5m transformation to become Malaysia 2.0, all thanks to a video installation overhaul featuring Smode’s real-time compositing and media server platform.

Perched at an altitude of 2,310m, The Malaysia club, established by Jean-Pierre Roux in 1985, is open seven days a week for the entire winter season. Dubbed the biggest dance floor in the Alps, it attracts around 700,000 people per season, hosting over 2,000 partygoers every night for live concerts and DJ sets. After almost four decades, the venue needed a ‘facelift’ to create an identity using digital art to stand out in the après-ski scene.

The transformation of Malaysia, spearheaded by the integrator Kinesik, involved developing a complete 3D model of the club to simulate the layout of the LED screens and the flow of v

UK - MT Helmets MSI, 2024 Moto2 team championship winners, wanted its new dual-truck hospitality suite to hold pole position in the MotoGP paddock, so approached Audio-Technica, who recommended Optimal Audio and its commercial audio ecosystem.

Audio-Technica has close links to the MotoGP production, working side-by-side with the media company behind the series, Dorna Sports, to develop and deliver both trackside and on-board microphone technologies for race-day audio capture, and were pleased to be asked to help the MT Helmets MSI team with a solution.

The racing team’s requirement was for a high-quality audio system that would operate across the two-truck demountable build, but remain simple to set up and use for the team’s crew and non-technical hospitality suite staff. To link the audio system across the trucks, Audio-Technica created custom-d

Denmark - In the autumn of 2023, Det Musiske Hus, a notable cultural venue in the northern Danish city of Frederikshavn, initiated a project to improve its conventional front and house lighting systems.

Seeking to enhance both the technical capabilities and the overall atmosphere of the space, the venue opted to install Fuze Profile automated framing moving heads and Fuze Pendant downlights, both cutting-edge luminaires from Elation that offer a full-colour spectrum and high CRI.

The upgrade, driven by the need for improved safety, greater flexibility, and expanded creative lighting possibilities for its diverse events, comes as Det Musiske Hus celebrates 20 years as a multifunctional event space. The venue’s largest hall hosts concerts, theatre performances, stand-up shows, business meetings, and conferences for seated and standing audiences of up

UK - Situated in the garden village of Port Sunlight on the Wirral, the historic Gladstone Theatre began life as an assembly and recreation hall with a platform stage for entertainment. The half-timbered and red-brick structure was opened by Prime Minister William Gladstone in 1891 and saw a proscenium stage added in the 1920s. Converted to a theatre in the 1950s, the Gladstone continues to stage a diverse range of commercial productions from an eclectic range of artists.

Music of every type, comedy, theatre, pantomime, variety, and dance all feature at the 400-seater venue, which is also used by local societies and youth groups.

Catering for such a wide range of productions demands a versatile sound system, and the Gladstone recently took the decision to improve its audio provision with the installation of a Coda Audio solution. Venue technology spe

USA - At The Caverns, part of an 8,000ft underground cave passage located a little over 80 miles south of Nashville, designers like Justin Casey have to contend with a lack of level surfaces.

"Nothing there is level," Casey, owner of Helm Projects said of the venue. "That's the first challenge. We have done so many shows at this place, so we know it takes some time and thought to come up with a design that's right for it – but once you do, it's well worth it."

Casey and his team recently created a stunning design for electronica star LSDream's two-day Rave Cave event at the Cavern that played off the venue's intricately craggy features to create looks that flowed seamlessly with the captivating vibe of the performances on stage.

Italy - A stone’s throw from Monaco and nestled on the Italian Riviera, Twiga Baia Beniamin is the latest venue from Flavio Briatore. Set in a bay and complementing its spectacular surroundings, the venue offers a blend of design, fine dining, and a luxurious atmosphere.

To enhance the guest experience further, an audio system from Brescia-based Outline has been installed. The system was delivered by Vibra Service, a Ligurian company known for equipping some of the region’s most prestigious spaces.

To ensure an audio experience worthy of its international DJ roster and refined clientele, Stefano Lo Sardo, founder and managing director of Vibra Service, selected Outline’s Vegas series. “The Vegas range won us over for three key reasons: its exceptional sound quality, impressive SPL, and robust weather resistance – it’s a true outdoor perfo

Canada - The University of Toronto’s Convocation Hall is a historic venue with a circular design. Imagined by prominent architects Darling and Pearson and completed in 1907, it has become a university landmark, hosting the annual convocation ceremonies and serving as the primary venue for academic and social functions due to its seating capacity of over 1,700.

Plagued by challenging acoustics, the hall’s reflective surfaces introduced significant complications, particularly for speech intelligibility. The previous sound system in Convocation Hall, an aging column array, was no longer effective – lacking the clarity needed for speech reinforcement in such a large, reverberant space. Renkus-Heinz was identified as the solution for these challenges, particularly its Iconyx line of loudspeakers, known for their advanced beam-steering technology.

USA - Toca Madera, a Mexican steakhouse by international hospitality group Noble 33, has opened its latest location in Houston, Texas, and features a 1 Sound audio system by Global AV Group.

To support daily background music and higher-energy evenings with live DJs or for private events, 1 Sound’s Cannon coaxials were the loudspeaker of choice because of their sonic clarity, fidelity, and SPL capability helping to fulfil the intimate and transformative setting for Toca Madera.

Global AV implemented mainly Cannon C8is throughout the 14,000sq.ft restaurant, the largest of any of Toca Madera’s locations. The Cannon C8s were deployed as a full-range speaker without the need of subwoofers. The Cannon C8 is designed with an 8” driver and a compression driver, and has an extended frequency response down to 55Hz; these qualities combined make the C8 so

USA - Rolling Hills Covenant Church (RHCC) in California was founded in 1957 and dedicated its first church building in 1959. Following the sustained growth of its congregation during the 1960s and ‘70s, the Church constructed a larger worship centre which is now the main focus of its Rolling Hills Estates campus.

During the 1980s, RHCC expanded its emphasis on the arts as part of Christian worship, with a strong focus on the role of musical excellence in services. Setting high standards of music performance demands audio quality to match, and during a recent remodelling of its main gathering space, which saw new seating and stage layouts, the Church undertook an overhaul of its technical systems, including provision for a new sound system.

RHCC director of technical arts ministries, Brian Johnson, engaged with Scott Ramsey of AV installation speci

Belgium - Housed in a magnificent former bank building, the renowned Belga Queen restaurant in central Brussels is now under new management, and recently underwent a complete renovation.

An important part of the Belga Queen’s renovation was the provision of a new audio system. The new management was keen to match its investment in the refurbishment with an audio solution befitting of the venue’s high-end values, and engaged experienced AV specialists FOL Sound, Light and Vision to design and supply a system.

Iwan Fol of FOL Sound, Light and Vision recommended a system based on the CM-Series, Pioneer Pro Audio range of commercial loudspeakers. USA - The landmark Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, Illinois has installed a Meyer Sound Panther system, marking a major upgrade to its nearly century-old tradition of live entertainment.

Originally opened in 1927 as a grand movie palace, the 2,400-seat venue, owned by the city of Waukegan and managed by the nonprofit Friends of the Historic Genesee Theatre, shifted focus in recent years to present concert-heavy programming that called for a more robust sound system.

The theatre’s Meyer Sound M2D system, installed in 2004, was designed for musicals, speaking events, and films. But as the venue hosted more concerts, it bolstered the installed system with rental equipment.

Integrator TC Furlong, in collaboration with Meyer Sound and Genesee’s skilled union crew, designed and installed a powerful new Panther sound system that delivers an audio e

Malta - The flourishing Maltese bar hotspot of St. Julian’s, overlooking St. George’s Bay, is where you will find both Hugo’s Lounge and Hugo’s Terrace & Rooftop. Established by the late leisure entrepreneur Hugo Chetcuti, the operation is today run by his son Luke, who is CEO of the Hugo’s Group.

It is more than a decade since Stefan Farrugia, MD of Martin Audio distributor Futuretech, installed CDD5 in the former venue. While CDD5 remains a firm favourite with the installer, when he was called in to upgrade the sound system that he originally installed at the Terrace many years ago, he only had one series in mind: Martin Audio’s potent BlacklineX.

“The venue needed a more powerful sound system, because although in the beginning the style had more of a lounge feel, with a DJ and live music they now needed something more powerful to
