UK - St Paul’s Cathedral Gardens in London have been revitalised with a carefully considered lighting scheme, featuring DarkSky Approved solutions that enhance safety and promote environmental sustainability while maintaining the site’s historic charm.

Designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the late 17th century, St Paul’s Cathedral has been a central part of London’s cultural and historical heritage for centuries. Adjacent to the Cathedral, the Cathedral Gardens, which were created in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain, now serve as a hub for socialisation and relaxation. However, the outdated lighting in the gardens offered inadequate coverage and clashed with the historic architecture, detracting from the area’s overall appeal.

Malaysia - Set within 13 acres of tranquil gardens, the National Mosque of Malaysia (Masjid Negara) Kuala Lumpur is an oasis of calm in the centre of the bustling capital city. With a 240ft minaret, a 16-point star on its roof, and space for up to 15,000 worshippers at any one time, the mosque is one of the best-known in Malaysia.

Since its construction in 1965, the mosque has seen several upgrades to its PA system, in both the indoor and outdoor prayer spaces, but has continued to struggle with poor intelligibility, inadequate coverage and a system that was difficult for mosque operators to manage. It wasn’t until the fourth and most recent refit using steerable loudspeakers from Renkus-Heinz and the brand’s innovative OmniBeam technology that the sound issues were fully resolved.

Croatia - With an enviable location on Croatia's celebrated Zrće Beach, Papaya Beach Club has electrified the European music scene since 2002. For over two decades, Papaya has pulsated with the rhythms of festivals and DJs, from Tiesto to Calvin Harris to Paul Van Dyk.

Now, the club has partnered with L-Acoustics to install a professional sound system. "Our vision was to transcend the limitations of rental equipment and create our own dedicated future-proof audio system," explains Luka Udovičić, production manager at Papaya Beach Club. UK - Looking for an “easy and stable solution” when kitting out the new Dolby Atmos rooms at Coventry University last year, Music & Audio Production course director Benoit Granier and his team turned to the Audient Oria when choosing their immersive audio interface and monitor controller.

“The Oria’s simplicity makes it user-friendly, which has significantly improved our workflow and helped staff and students get started easily,” he says. Located in Central Florida, the King Center in Melbourne is the only venue within over 50 miles equipped to accommodate national touring productions, making it an essential cultural hub for the region.

Italy - Aligning a special seven-night cruise with the finale of the Sanremo Music Festival – which chooses Italy’s Eurovision pick each year – Costa Cruises and Carnival Maritime commissioned a massive lighting installation aboard its Costa Toscana ship, which was moored approximately 1k out of Sanremo’s harbour for the Saturday night music extravaganza.

This super-sized piece of light art involved 60 x Robe iBolts, the Czech manufacturer’s most powerful, high-impact laser-source searchlight-style fixture, and was overseen by Roberto Iavarone, entertainment superintendent for the Costa fleet.

UK - Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has unveiled its new campus in Whitechapel, London, with the launch of NTU London. The venue, located in the heart of London's creative scene, features a 600-capacity performance space equipped with an L-Acoustics Kara II line array professional audio system, delivering the same technology used at the major music festivals while providing hands-on learning for aspiring live sound engineers.

The location at Sattva Horizon business park, near Bangalore International Airport, will be host to more than 7,000 Amazon employees and mark a rapid development for the company in this region.

Canada - The Niagara Parks Power Station in Niagara Falls, Ontario, has undergone a transformative journey, evolving from an industrial powerhouse to an immersive museum that blends history, technology, and storytelling. As part of this transformation, two new exhibits were introduced: the Tesla Coil Exhibit and the Niagara Parks Tunnel.

UK - The Ballymoney Church of God is a Pentecostal evangelical church that has served its community in County Antrim, Northern Ireland for 75 years. The church has recently celebrated the refurbishment of its Sanctuary which included the design and installation of a new Nexo Geo M6 line array sound system.

UK - Bletchley Park, the famed World War II codebreaking heritage site and museum, has further enriched its visitor experience with the opening of the Fellowship Auditorium. This purpose-built venue, unveiled in October 2023, is the latest addition to the Milton Keynes site. The Netherlands - Two key performance spaces – Odeon and Spiegel – in the bustling Netherlands regional epicentre of Zwolle, chose Robe moving lights as a vital element of their transition to LED lighting, with the purchase of six T1 Profiles, 18 x Painte Profiles, 24 x LEDBeam 350s and 24 x LEDBeam FWQ 150 Washes, all delivered by Robe’s Benelux distributor, Controllux.

Discussions related to the move to LED started in 2022, and Zwolle Theatre’s head of technical Dennis Bouwhuis and head of lighting Jan Willem Jansen explained that, as they already had some older Robe moving lights – ColorWash 250s and ColorSpot 700s – in the inventory, they had already known the brand for a long time and enjoyed its reliability.

China - The popularity of Karaoke Television, more commonly referred to as KTV, continues to grow around the world.

Covering a total area of 30,000sq.m, the recently opened Skyline venue in the Chinese city of Hangzhou is the largest single party and KTV entertainment complex in the world. Spread across four floors, it comprises a combination of small, medium, and large party spaces, including KTV rooms created for private and business customers. Audio specialist Zhejiang Tongbo Vision Technology was engaged to install the audio requirements of this large and prestigious project.
