White Light has launched a new website dedicated to the company’s popular Training Initiative education programme. Launched at the ABTT Trade Show in 1999, The Training Initiative aims to make the wealth of knowledge and experience held by the White Light Group available to the widest possible audience. The new website gathers information about all of The Training Initiatives projects together in one place. The site includes details of all of the courses offered, details of workshops that have been held, news about recent Training Initiative events, and information about the White Light Resource Pack. Talking to PLASA Media about the new website, White Light’s training co-ordinator, Jason Larcombe, said: "We are very excited about the new website, but it is also just the start. The site will shortly include information about other elements of training in the industry with links to colleges and other providers of training, and a searchable list of lighting and other design-related books." Also launched on the site is the 2001 White Light Lighting Design Bursary. This is the fourth year of this competition, which offers students of lighting design at higher education level a chance to win a bursary of £500. Those interested in taking part should contact Jason Larcombe at White Light on +44 (0)20 7731 3291 or by email to training@WhiteLightGroup.co.uk by June 16th to register their interest. White Light are also pleased to be involved with another Bursary, to be presented in memory of former Association of Lighting Designers Chairman Michael Northen, who passed away recently. This award is being presented to LAMDA student Asye Sedef Ayter, to fund her travel to the Showlight exhibition in May.
