Robe highlights All Time Low

UK - Popular American punk pop band All Time Low recently took the UK by storm on their latest A Love Like tour, and part of their energy-fuelled performances was the lighting design created by Boston-based LD Jeff Maker. Lighting for the UK tour was supplied by Leeds-based rental company Zig Zag and included over 80 Robe moving lights including 54 Pointes, 12 LEDWash 600s and 12 LEDBeam 100s - all from Robe's Robin range.

Parnelli-nominated Maker has worked with the band since 2009 and his visual starting point for this tour was based on four different backdrop reveals throughout the set - a budget-friendly strategy to bring multi-layered looks and maximum dynamics to the stage and the pacey set. The set also includes semi-transparent riser ramps which are under-lit.

UK - Congratulations to the winners of the Lighting, Sound and Set Design categories at this year's Olivier Awards, which were presented at The Royal Opera House last night. The White Light Award for Best Lighting was won jointly by two lighting design teams - Paul Pyant and Jon Driscoll for Charlie & the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and Tim Lutkin and Finn Ross for Chimerica at the Almeida Theatre and the Harold Pinter Theatre.

USA - LED tape may not get the attention that high beam moving heads or flashy LED backdrops enjoy, but it certainly has its place on live sets as a visually important - and highly cost effective - decorative element. Dataton Watchout sets the stage for Rebecca

Sweden - Rave reviews greeted the Scandinavian premiere of the musical Rebecca at Malmö Opera in spring 2014.
