PLASA 2019: Robe debuts LED profile

Making an exhibition launch will be the Esprite LED profile moving light. The fixture houses a 650W WTE (White Transferrable Engine) light source - a changeable LED engine engineered in-house by Robe, through which the company promises to eliminate common white-source issues such as unpredictable life and performance inconsistency.
Also debuting at the show will be Tetra (from Tetragnatha), a linear bar fixture that builds on Robe’s Spiider and Tarrantula LED technology. Utilising the same LEDs, with a 4.5° beam from each of the 18 pixels, these can be combined to produce a bright, defined 'sheet' of light or Svoboda-style light curtain, and fixtures can be positioned end-to-end for longer seamless curtains of light or washing effects. Tetra also incorporates two MCFE (Multi-Coloured Flower Effects) within the LED engine, and utilises L3 (Low Light Linearity) dimming technology.
“The compact and practical design of the fixture allows end-to-end placement of units on the stage deck, floor or truss, maintaining equal spacing between pixels,” says Robe. “The homogenised beams, together with the smooth 10:1 zoom, provide a wash opening out to 45° or an effective footlight, wall grazer or for eye-popping in-air effects with fast-paced sweeping movements.” The fixture is suitable for use in the film and broadcast sectors thanks to C-Pulse technology for flicker-free LED adjustment and operation.
Other expected highlight from the Czech manufacturer include SilverScan, the T1 family (T1 Profile, T1 Profile FS, T1 Fresnel and the T1 PC), the IP-rated iPointe, the RoboSpot remote followspotting system, and the Spiider and Tarrantula LED wash beams.
The Esprite and the SilverScan are nominated for PLASA Awards for Innovation and will be on display in the Innovation Gallery.
