Pixel Artworks is moving into new global markets
UK - Projection Artworks has rebranded to Pixel Artworks to reflect the company’s expanding use of pixel-based display technology.
Tom Burch, managing director of Pixel Artworks, comments: “For over a decade, our pioneering creative, technical and delivery expertise has grown alongside the incredible advances in pixel-based display technology. For years we’ve been telling clients’ stories through the best medium for that project, whether that be OLED, lighting design, LED or projection mapping. It’s time our name reflects this.
“Our clients used to come to us when the nights grew darker and people thought of projection, now our talented team of nearly 50 people across two continents can design virtually limitless concepts that excite, explain and inspire in any environment - from digital out-of-home to giant airport activations, to choreographed live shows and 360° immersive experiences. We paint with light, and the world is our canvas.”
Recent projects from Pixel Artworks include the innovative entrance stage to the globally broadcast International Swimming League competition, a large lighting and projection mapping show for the grand opening of the Macallan distillery in Scotland; a touring pop-up pavilion to promote Expo2020 in Dubai featuring LED and entire room of LCD panels, lighting displays and touch screens; and a sensitively portrayed outdoor live immersive experience for the Second World War Museum in Gdansk to mark the 80th anniversary of World War II, with choreographed live theatre, lighting design and projection mapping.
