At PLASA 2001, Clay Paky is presenting a series of new product lines, as well as expanding existing ones. This wide range includes the ‘Silent Version’ (SV) models, designed to guarantee maximum operating silence and the ‘Golden’ models, which ensure high performances at a low expense.

With Stage Profile 1200 SV, Stage Color 1200 SV and Stage Zoom 1200 SV, Clay Paky have developed three projectors that are over 50% quieter than normal. This is due to an innovative cooling system designed by Clay Paky’s R&D department. The Stage Profile 1200 SV combines the quality of a professional beam shaper with the versatility of a moving body projector. This innovative and creative tool - ideal for use in theatre, television and concert applications - allows beam-shaping evenly in quadrilaterals and triangles of any shape or size. The effect utilizes four beam-shaping blades operating on four focal planes, easily programmed and controlled from the desk. The whole system can rotate 90° in either direction at variable speed.

Equipped with 16+3 control channels, the Stage Profile 1200 SV has a zoom lens unit with a 16° to 24° beam angle controlled from the desk for both electronic focusing and zoom linear movement. It also comes with an iris, colour temperature conversion from 6000 to 3200K, an interchangeable seven-colour disc, dimmers, stop and strobe, lamp control from the control desk and the option of fixed gobos. Another feature of Stage Profile 1200 SV is the possibility of interchanging the moving head with that of the Stage Zoom 1200 SV effects projector.

Stage Zoom 1200 SV uses 16+4 control channels and has the same performances and effects as Stage Zoom 1200: a powerful HMI 1200W lamp, an electronic zoom lens unit controlled from the desk both for electronic focusing and linear zoom movement as well as high graphic capacities with the two gobo wheels: one for rotating gobos indexable on 540° with a selectable 8 to 16 bit resolution, and one for fixed gobos. It has four rotating and indexable prisms, CMY colour system, two filters for correcting the colour temperature, two and four-colour beams, UV light, a light blue filter, rainbow effect, maximum effect gradual and fading frost with a large aperture, adjustable speed iris, dimmer stop and strobe, hot lamp restrike, electronic ballast, broad and smooth movements (450° pan, 252° tilt) with selectable 8 or 16 bit resolution, as well as all the usual aids for transport, installation and internal access.

Stage Color 1200 SV - with 11+3 control channels - is the silent version of the powerful washlight Stage Color 1200 and keeps all its characteristics: a very powerful 1200 W HMI lamp, CMY colour system and the Amber disc with gradual insertion, which creates ‘pastel’ shades and linear correction of the colour temperature from 6000 to 3200K, bi-colour concentric beams, UV light, three microlens frost filters (the more pronounced version forms a 50° angle), ovalizer, dimmer, stop and strobe, hot lamp restrike, electronic ballast, broad and smooth movements (450° Pan, 252° Tilt) with selectable 8 or 16 bit resolution, as well as all the usual aids for transport, installation and internal access.

Golden Spot 1200 is a very powerful moving body effects projector with a HMI 1200W/S lamp that offers cutting-edge performances while meeting any budget. In the 10+3 channels, the projector offers two separate and combinable gobo wheels: one for bi-directional rotating gobos with adjustable speed, all indexable on 540° with selectable 8 or 16 bit resolution, and the other for interchangeable gobos. The optical unit uses a lens with a wide-angle 24° aperture and electronic focusing, which ensures a perfectly clear image at any distance and aperture. An additional lens, housed inside the projector, can be fitted by hand to reduce the light beam down to 15°.

Golden Color 1200 is a powerful washlight that can meet even limited budgets. It us
