The G901 video processor
USA - VNS Inc has introduced a 10-bit HDR-10-ready processor solution designed for large display installations. The GeoBox G901 processes 4K, 60Hz inputs/outputs for LCD or LED video walls, or projection edge-blending systems.
The G901 video processor places and controls secondary PIP or POP imagery (any digital input source in any format) onto projection-blended or video wall installations, without the need for a separate PC. It can switch video sources, convert formats, scale up and down in 10-bits, precisely crop and flip/rotate images, and supports non-VESA standard input timings and editable output timing.
The G901 boasts five inputs (three HDMI 2.0b and two DisplayPort 1.4) with switcher functionality outputted via one HDMI 2.0, and allows switchable dual-source content selection (maximum two images displayed at a time) with flexible, programmable output resolution. Maximum input is 4096 x 2400 at 60Hz or 7680 x 2160 at 30Hz via HDMI, and 7680 x 4320 at 30Hz via DisplayPort. With progressive RGB 10-bit 4:4:4 chroma sampling, the G901 supports 8, 10 and 12-bit deep colour, as well as BT.2020 HDR10 signal processing; refresh rates of 24-120Hz, with 3D motion adaptive de-interlacing; low angle smooth algorithm; and 3:2/2:2 film mode cadence.
Thanks to its powerful PIP/POP functionality, PIP (sub) images can be placed in any location and in any size on the video wall or projection-blended installation, with POP images able to be placed side-by-side or top-to-bottom. Main and secondary images can be rotated, flipped and swapped around independently, with adjustable cropping area and aspect ratios.
Different display modes can be pre-saved for different presentation scenarios. There are no limitations on the PIP, with input resolution support the same as main image: 4K/2K.
Programmable output resolution allows for true pixel-to-pixel picture quality on large display systems with non-standard image resolutions, such as LED walls. Output resolution can be adjusted from 800-4096, with 8 pixels/step horizontally and 720-3840 with 1 pixel/step vertically.
“This new front-end processor is unique - it’s a game-changer,” claims VNS Inc. CEO Steve Wang. “It allows integrators to achieve true pixel-to-pixel quality on their large display installations, with unparalleled flexibility in source switching, PIP/POP and aspect ratio adjustment. There is nothing else like it on the market, and requires no separate PC or software.”
