The Netherlands - Sennheiser's Esfera surround microphone system has been recognised with an IABM Design and Innovation Award. At the awards ceremony held on 13 September during the IBC in Amsterdam, the audio specialist received the award within the Audio category.

A row of specially developed, High Definition, 43-inch monitors, to the side of the stage, appear dark grey to the general audience. Viewers who wish to see captions throughout the show simply wear lightweight glasses, which look like 3D glasses.

Inventor, Jack Ezra says, "A great deal of work went into developing our LCD panel, backlight and software and future versions will allow a live or recorded person to be displayed doing sign-language.
