USA/Europe - ETC has advanced its fanless product line further with the new High End Systems Halcyon Silent. This luminaire balances silent operation with the feature set of ETC’s flagship Halcyon family.

Suitable for concert halls, opera houses, and other noise-sensitive venues, Halcyon Silent is convection-cooled to eliminate distracting sounds. Acoustics specialists Müller-BBM conducted testing on the luminaire to confirm its quiet operation. At full intensity with background noise removed, Halcyon Silent sound levels measured at 13 dBa. Sound pressure levels less than 20 dBa are considered inaudible.

Japan - Yamaha has announced its new, versatile PY64-D Dante interface card for DM7 series digital mixing consoles. Adding more flexibility, the PY64-D will help DM7 users to create an even wider range of bespoke live and installed sound systems.

The new PY64-D card expands the Dante connection on DM7 series mixers with sample rate converter (SRC) functions, ensuring straightforward connections for complex systems, including devices using different sampling frequencies.

In addition, by connecting the DM7’s built-in Dante connectors and those on the PY64-D card to different Dante networks, the DM7 console can be used as a bridge between them, providing a secure option. Sync ON and OFF modes are available, with the settings made from the console.

USA - Audio Precision has announced the release of APx500 software version 9.0.1 Beta, now supporting ARM CPU architecture, commonly found in mobile and Apple silicon devices. 

This software version allows users to run APx500 directly on ARM-based Windows PCs, including the latest Microsoft Surface devices, and on Mac computers via virtual machine software such as Parallels Desktop. 

In the interest of getting this functionality to its Mac / ARM users as early as possible, AP is offering the 9.0.1 software as a feature-complete Beta to gather feedback before final validation. This product is the result of a collaboration between Podiumtechniek B.V., a leading player in the entertainment industry, and SRS Group, a globally respected name in lighting, rigging, and power distribution technology. UK - Avolites has announced an update to its Titan remote app, boosting performance and functionality. It is ‘a significant upgrade to the last Titan remote app’ (released several years ago) and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

The Titan remote app works alongside Avolites lighting consoles running Titan software, to provide moving light control from a mobile phone or tablet.

Using the Avolites Remote app on a mobile device, with the addition of an external wireless access point, any Avolites lighting console can be remote-controlled using Wi-Fi from an android or iOS mobile device like a smartphone or tablet.
