Germany - The Martin M6 lighting console was awarded the first ever Prolight + Sound International Press Award (PIPA) for Best Lighting Controller.

The PIPA Awards are presented to the best audio, lighting, and musical equipment as voted by more than 100 production and entertainment publications from around the world. Martin Professional accepted the award at an event attended by more than 300 industry professionals.

Germany - UK automation specialist Kinesys reports a busy and successful first Prolight+Sound exhibition in Frankfurt.

The manufacturer - which enjoyed substantial growth in 2013 - launched two important new products at the show, which together with their existing dynamic product ranges, attracted lots of interest and helped create a lively buzz in Hall 9 of the Messe exhibition centre.

"We were extremely pleased with the quantity and quality of the visitors to the exhibition and their international nature," comments Kinesys MD Dave Weatherhead, who was on the stand together with a team from Kinesys Sales and Projects.

Product marketing specialist Steve Fowler adds, "We met many new contacts as well as touching base with some of our existing clients, and have already had some serious inquiries as a result of being at the show."

Germany - At Prolight+Sound Frankfurt, TMB introduced Flare Jr, a powerful new compact lighting fixture developed with technology from the popular, award-winning Flare. USA - At the NAB 2014 tradeshow, 7-10 April, in Las Vegas, ETC will display a wide range of products for the big screen, small screen and everything in between. Visitors to ETC's stand (C12626) will get to see the latest ETC gear that simplifies studio work, including fixtures, rigging systems and lighting control systems.

ETC's stand will feature two displays stocked with conventional and LED fixtures for indoor and outdoor applications, some of which are created specifically for broadcast use, such as the Source Four LED Studio HD, Selador Desire D22 Studio Tungsten, Selador Desire D40XT Studio HD and Selador Classic Pearl luminaires.

Germany - At this year's Prolight+Sound Sommer Cable once again presented their product portfolio at a large booth. On an area greater than 100s.qm one could see many products and ideas around the topics of cables and lines, connectors and connection technology, signal processing as well as mechanical solutions for mobile and permanent installations.

The focus of attention lay on the latest developments in the Cardinal DVM in-house brand.

As of now the popular DVM 120 series is broadened by the single-channel model versions DVM-120-DIS and DVM-120-DISH. Owing to their transformers from Swedish premium maker LUNDAHL, these high-quality DI boxes offer excellent audio specs in a very compact and solid housing. Already the standard DVM-120-DIS DI box can meet the highest requirements due to very low distortions, a high headroom and an almost ideal frequency response.

Germany - The launch of LightGeist's new product range, the LightStick, the Badger and the Splodger, proved an unmitigated success at the Prolight+Sound show in Frankfurt.

Exhibiting for the first time, the LightGeist team was delighted with the impact the new products had on visitors and the instant response they generated.

Germany - Robert Juliat experienced a successful show at Prolight + Sound, Frankfurt with a constant stream of visitors keeping the stand exceptionally busy over the four days.

Robert Juliat chose to refocus attention on its followspot range to reinvigorate its presence in the German market. The models on show - the Cyrano 2500W HMI, Lancelot 4000W HTI and Victor 1800W MSR - proved a great hit, not only in the German market but also with the international presence that was so evident at the show.

UK - Total Solutions Group are gearing up for PLASA Focus Leeds 2014, and it will be the first time at the event for project manager, Nigel Tranter. Nigel has been responsible for designing large projects over the years for TSG.

TSG will be exhibiting this year on stand N-B26 where pictures of recent projects including the Winter Olympics and the Olivier Awards, will be displayed. The OV Truss which was launched at the PLASA Focus show last year (and will be on the stand), has been greatly received and TSG reports an extensive list of clients after its first year of production.

UK - MilTec (UK) Ltd will be showcasing a wide range of new products at the PLASA Focus show in April (Stand N-C07). In addition to the usual stand in the New Dock Hall, the company will have a live demo room in the Holiday Inn Hotel next door. Demos will be running all day and will give visitors an opportunity to listen to the successful Blakite range of speakers and to see a selection of LED lighting products.

The Blakite speakers were designed by MilTec and are built in the UK. Most are loaded with British drivers. New additions to the range are a compact stage wedge, loaded with a 12" neodymium driver and concentric HF horn, together with a 6" trapezoidal speaker for installations and small conference work.

The success of the speakers has inspired the company to expand the UK manufacturing base to include amplifiers and LED Lighting products.

Downloadable from the website, v1.4 introduces several new features, including multiple access user permissions, Windows drivers for multitrack streaming, per scene recall filters and FX user libraries.

V1.4 includes the much anticipated Windows drivers, enabling bit-perfect, ASIO and WDM compliant multitrack playback and recording.
