sxc115-tnMartin Audio releases cardioid subs
Wednesday, 18 March 2020

UK - Martin Audio has announced the release of two new compact, high performance cardioid subwoofers, the SXCF118 and the SXC115, suitable for both live sound reinforcement and fixed installations.
The SXCF118 is a flyable version of the SXC118 released last year and has been purpose designed to accompany the WPS optimised line array system, while the ground stack SXC115 is set to partner WPM.
The SXCF118 combines maximum low frequency output with exceptional pattern control. It features an 18” (460mm) forward facing driver and a 14” (356mm) rear facing driver, each driven independently by separate amplifier channels and DSP. Each driver has its own chamber with optimised bass reflex porting.
This arrangement produces a cardioid dispersion pattern which maximises the front radiation, while reducing unwanted radiation behind the subwoofer. The recommended iK42 amplifier optimises the DSP parameters for front and rear drivers to maximise the rear rejection - from 21dB at 43Hz to 28dB at 75Hz. This keeps low frequencies away from stages and walls as well as reducing reverberant energy in the room - greatly improving low frequency response accuracy and impact.
In front of the enclosure, the output from the two drivers is additive, giving an extra 2dB of output when compared with a conventional 1 x 18” subwoofer.
The SXC115 follows similar principles and contains a 15” (380mm) front facing driver and 12” (300mm) rear facing driver, each driven, again, independently by separate amplifier channels and DSP. Each driver, similarly,

triple-erearfold-runnerTriple E re-designs Rearfold accessory
Tuesday, 10 March 2020

UK - Triple E has a long-established reputation for manufacturing efficient, mechanical products and gadgets to aid the movement of curtains and the assembly and construction of stage scenery. As the demands of the industry change, it is often the case that pre-existing pieces of equipment need a review and a refresh to ensure their design adapts to the demands of the applications they are used for.
The team at Triple E has developed its Rearfold accessory for their industry standard UniTrack and UniBeam carriers.
“The UniTrack system was first launched in 1988, and the Rearfold accessory has been an integral part of the system since that time. Therefore, a long overdue review of the Rearfold accessory design was implemented,” says David Edelstein, founder and managing director of Triple E. “The Rearfold carriers enable a curtain as it travels to stack offstage instead of the standard system of stacking from the centre” he continues. “The demand for these accessories has increased and so the design has been changed to ensure not only dimensional accuracy but also to allow us to run a more efficient production process and manufacture greater quantities to match this demand.”
The curtain carrier body of the UniTrack and UniBeam has in recent years changed from steel to an MRP (metal replacement polymer) moulding which is stronger than the metal it has replaced but is lighter and therefore easier to work with. To complement the re-designed runner, the new Rearfold accessory has now been updated with a moulded re-developed rope bridge with

Designed for high-demanding applications, it comes with an optical system that provides even light and colour projection; a fast and accurate zoom function that ranges from 11° to 50°; and an IP65-rating that makes it suitable for indoor and outdoor usage.
The RGB+Lime LED engine generates a rich colour set, from vivid and saturated colours to subtle pastels. Adding lime fills the gaps between red, green, blue and enhances the colour spectrum of the fixture. It also adds beautiful white tones to the feature set. High performance LEDs deliver high CRI and R9 values.
Packed in a signature CLF housing, the Odin combines convection cooling with an ultra-quiet intelligent fan. The fixture can be aimed easily by using the one button test function. The fixture can also be configured for exhibition applications by using the definable user modes.

USA - City Theatrical has announced that its Multiverse Receiver Cards are now available in either the 2.4GHz or 900MHz band through City Theatrical distributors worldwide.
Multiverse Receiver Cards can be used to implement wireless DMX/RDM into entertainment projects or lighting equipment in a simple way. They act like full Multiverse wireless DMX/RDM receivers without the housing, XLR connectors, and user interface as used in wireless DMX receiving products like the Multiverse Node and Multiverse SHoW Baby. Multiverse Receiver Cards include an internal antenna and a connection to an optional external antenna.
Configuration for Multiverse Receiver Cards is done via RDM with DMXcat Multi Function Test Tool, or with City Theatrical’s USB Configuration Programme for PC/Mac.
In addition to receiving wireless DMX and outputting wired DMX, the Multiverse Receiver Card can output 0-10V, and has four PWM control outputs.
While Multiverse Modules require a full circuit board level implementation by professional lighting manufacturers, Multiverse Receiver Cards can be used by any lighting user to implement wireless DMX/RDM into their lighting equipment, whether props, costumes, or lighting fixtures.
The Cards can be used as part of a full Multiverse wireless DMX/RDM system to connect up to 10 universes of wireless DMX/RDM to a single Multiverse Transmitter.
Lighting manufacturers can use the 0-10V and PWM output capabilities to quickly add wireless DMX control to their products.
