The beach provided the backdrop for the thousands that made the trek to the sandy shores
USA - Bandit Lites returned to the ocean for another spectacular weekend at the Hangout Music Festival, where the beach provided a picturesque backdrop for the thousands that made the trek to the sandy shores.
This year’s line-up boasted a wide range of artists, such as Mumford & Sons, Chance the Rapper, Phoenix, Major Lazer, Weezer, MGMT, Sigur Ros, Band of Horses, Franz Ferdinand and Charli XCX.
While the musical acts coupled with a weekend at the beach were reason enough to attend Hangout, festival goers could also experience a host of activities ranging from beach volley ball, an ocean side Ferris wheel, beach club, arcade, puppy kissing booth and even a legitimate wedding chapel.
Bandit Lites provided the lighting for the festival’s main stage, rightfully dubbed the Hangout Stage, Fitz’s Stage, along with the Surf Stage, which flanked the main stage across the beach. Bandit also provided additional cable and motors support for 21 Pilots and Weezer’s massive W sign.
At one end of the beach, Bandit supplied The Mainstage with over a hundred fixtures, including VL 6000 Beams, VL 3000 Spots, Claypaky Sharpys, Iluminarc Ilumipanels, Bandit 5x5s, Bandit’s exclusive GRNLite Moving Washes and Lycian M2 Spots. Two Grand MA 2 full consoles provided control.
Across the shore, Bandit provided the Surf Stage with over another 100 fixtures, such as VL 6000 Beams, VL 3500 Washes, Claypaky Sharpys, Claypaky Mythos, Solaris Flares, Illuminarc LED Washes, Bandit 5x5s and Martin MAC Viper Profiles. Another two Grand MA 2 full consoles controlled the stage.
Fitz’s Stage featured eight individual eight feet ladder truss hanging off the rear truss, outfitted with VL 2500 Spots, Bandit’s exclusive GRNLite 8 lites, GRNLite Pars and GRNLite Moving Washes. A Grand MA 2 full console provided control.
“Logistically speaking, festivals can be a nightmare if there’s even the slightest breakdown in communication,” said Bandit’s project manager Gene Brian. “Fortunately, the team at Lambda Productions knows their stuff and are consummate professionals, which is what ultimately helps in making the weekend a success for all parties.”
