James Eade launches new BS 7909 course

BS 7909 Temporary Power for the Events Industry has been developed by Eade in consultation with industry experts to ensure the most up-to-date and relevant guidance for this rapidly changing discipline. Unique in the event production market, the course is only available from James Eade.
The course is up to date with the new 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2018) and the new IET guidance on the use of generators and covers a broad range of areas including multiple sources of supply, RCDs, earthing and bonding, inspection and testing as well as the management of temporary electrical infrastructure.
Attendees will learn how and why the IET Wiring Regulations and BS 7909 apply to temporary events, why they are important, and the best route to compliance. The content includes examples of current practice, and where this differs from best practice, as well as the common dangers that exist in a typical event environment.
Initially, BS 7909 Temporary Power for the Events Industry will be accredited by Eade, but the process of gaining accreditation by a leading awarding body is underway and is expected to be completed soon.

• Events Industry Electrical Standards Update - A brand new course designed to give candidates an understanding of the changes to BS 7671: 2018 (The IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition) that are most relevant to events and entertainment. It also includes the latest IET guidance on generator use and earthing practices, as well as new guidance from PLASA on lightning protection at events.
• Generator Principles and Earthing - Another new course based on new guidance developed by James for the new IET Guidance on Temporary Power Systems.
