UK - Technical manager Sam Day recently turned to DPA Microphones to achieve pristine sound capture for an innovative in-the-round production of Albert Herring at Opera North’s Howard Assembly Room in Leeds. When staging the intimate production, Day knew he would need to capture the nuanced dynamics of operatic vocals and orchestral richness.

USA - Solid State Logic has appointed CJ Lewis to the position of national sales manager, Western US, where he is responsible for SSL, Harrison Audio and Slate Digital ACP (Audio Creation Product) solutions. In his new role, Lewis joins SSL’s US-based distributor, Group One Ltd as part of its expanding business development and customer relationships, reporting to Rick Naqvi, senior VP of USA sales.

Lewis, who is based in Denver, CO brings more than two decades of sales management and product expertise to his role. USA - Broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, this year’s MTV Video Music  Awards set a record for the most viewed and engaged VMAs in history. A diligent team of audio engineering professionals from Firehouse Productions trusted Shure wireless audio technology to ensure the evening’s production ran smoothly.

UK - London’s legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club returned to the streets of Soho last month for a day of music, dance, and celebration. After a successful first run in 2019, Ronnie Scott’s Street Party made its long-awaited return on 2 August, transforming Frith Street into an open-air festival that welcomed thousands of jazz lovers to a free, single-day celebration powered by KV2 Audio. 

In conjunction with Ronnie Scott’s Charitable Foundation, the street party offered a chance to shine a light on the foundation’s vital work supporting jazz and music education for young people.
