Classical Record - A record 114,000 tickets for the BBC Proms 2013 have sold since booking opened on Saturday, a 17% rise on 2012. More than 100,000 tickets sold online, while the rest were bought by phone, post or in person from the Albert Hall. BBC Proms director Roger Wright described the "record-breaking" sales as a "thrill".

The most popular Proms in terms of ticket sales included the First Night of the Proms, conducted by Sakari Oramo in his inaugural performance as chief conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, on 12 July, plus two Doctor Who Proms on 13 and 14 July and both Proms by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra with Mariss Jansons on 8 and 9 August. Wright, who is also the controller of BBC Radio 3, added that there were still tickets available

UK - Funktion-One and three of its rental network partners delivered audio solutions to Sonic, Arcadia, and WOW at the UK's biggest festival, continuing a relationship that began during Glastonbury's formative moments in the early 1970s.

Audio Plus worked closely with Funktion-One to design an audio spec for Sonic, which presented some unusual challenges. Audio Funktion made sure that the aural spectacle matched the visual extravaganza at Arcadia. And Audio X supplied the sound to WOW, which, like Sonic, formed part of the Silver Hayes area.

Venezuela - Caracas-based PROmontaje has taken delivery of a Meyer Sound Leo linear large-scale reinforcement system, the first to be available in Latin America. The new system was initially deployed at the Vive Movistar Festival in Caracas this summer.

UK - Two Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing systems managed FOH and monitors for a special performance by the band, People's String Foundation, held at the Minack open-air theatre in Cornwall to mark a forthcoming album launch.
