USA - Twenty years after its founding by a handful of dedicated families, Redeemer Church celebrated the completion of a new 16,000sq.ft sanctuary, fellowship hall, and classroom complex in its hometown of Riverview, Florida, a suburb of Tampa.

Midway through the design phase, local A/V integration firm Christian Sound Installation (CSI) picked the project up when another firm folded, taking the best elements of the existing work and tweaking it for increased integration, impact, and functionality. Based on past success and a proven record of reliability, CSI specified Ashly Audio network-ready processors and amplifiers, which, together with an Ashly WR-5 remote control, gives the church reliability, great sound quality, and the ability to conduct full, audio-engineered services or smaller, auto-mixed events, such as weddings or funerals.

USA - dnp denmark was able to take full advantage of the record turn-out at this year's InfoComm 2015 in Orlando, which was visited by 39,105 from 108 countries.

Theming their stand around large scale 4K content, optimised by the kind of ambient light rejection for which they are famed, the company introduced a radical change to their product roadmap by introducing bundled optical flat screen solutions - in the form of the dnp LaserPanel and dnp LaserPanel Touch.

The 100" dnp LaserPanel Touch is designed for interactivity, especially for the meeting room market. This solution also enables presenters to connect iPad, cellphone or laptop direct to the screen.

Also dominating the stand was the giant 220in diagonal dnp Supernova Infinity (constructed from 2 x 2 virtually seamless tiled panels) again showing 4K content, and the extra-large dnp Supernova XL. The company also

UK - Adlib were the sound supplier for the European & UK leg of the recent 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) Rock Out with your Socks Out tour.

Adlib first 'met' 5SOS at the 2014 Summertime Ball event at Wembley Stadium in London where they were co-ordinating all things audio. The band's FOH engineer John Delf, asked Adlib's Ben Booker to mix monitors for the band's headline shows at London's Islington Academy and then Birmingham Academy 2. This was back in October 2013. At this point Ben saw the potential of the band and jumped on board full time.

Ben and John Delf were extremely happy when Adlib was chosen for this, 5SOS's first major headlining European production tour.

John Delf specified the L-Acoustics K1 system after hearing it used at the 2014 Summertime Ball. The seven week arena tour traversed through Europe and the UK, culminating in three sold-out shows at Wemble

UK - Gottwood electronic and music festival - an intimate boutique event, set in an idyllic Welsh forest on the isle of Anglesey - has been running since 2010. It prides itself on presenting a DJ line up of "rising stars and established veterans".

Involved with promoters Future Noise Ltd from the beginning has been Creation Live's Tom Whittle, who in addition to working with Martin Audio's Cheshire-based partners (and event production company) VME is also the festival's operations manager.

He recalls that the potential of the site had been clear from his first visit back in September 2009. But it was only this year that the four-day festival could banish its noise pollution issues by adopting the magic control technology of Martin Audio's MLA Compact sound system. This not only contained the off-site perimeter sound, but at the same time boosted the SPL at the main F

USA - The Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology at Virginia Tech has turned to Audinate's technology to establish a robust, multichannel Dante network for new immersive facility, The Cube, a four-story theatre and high-tech laboratory with one of the highest-channel count 3D audio systems in the world.

Featuring multi-screen video and 3D sound from 145 loudspeakers, the cutting-edge, multipurpose facility launched this semester to bring creative artists, educators and audiences together. Dante media networking plays a key role in the university's goal of complete immersion across various research, experimental and live performance projects taking place in The Cube - while reducing overall costs and labour in the process.

The Cube's unusual dimensions (50' w x 40'l x 32' h) and high loudspeaker count ignited discussions early in the project about how to effectively mov

USA - As part of the Kansas Star Casino, and located just south of Wichita, the Kansas Star Arena is a multipurpose auditorium that hosts conventions, concerts, rodeos, MMA fights and other events.

The 3,400-seat arena, which opened in 2013, had a basic audio system for announcements. However, the arena quickly outgrew the system's capabilities and often rented equipment to supplement its sound level and music quality for rodeos and other events with high levels of crowd excitement.

In 2014, Kansas Star turned to McClelland Sound of Wichita, KS to upgrade the arena's audio system. McClelland's Paul Colella designed a distributed loudspeaker system with eight clusters of Community Solutions Series SLS960 main loudspeakers and ILF218 subwoofers. The system covers the arena seating and floor and allows selected loudspeakers to be muted for smaller events that use half of the aren

UK - The Jockey Club's £45m redevelopment of its flagship Racecourse at Cheltenham is fully underway with many of the areas complete outside of the main grandstand. The redevelopment will increase capacity and provide modern facilities and includes the demolition of the current royal box, which was built in 1952, and 55 other boxes built in the 1920s and 1930s.

Part of the re-development programme included within GBE's scope of works is the installation of the new PA/VA system, disabled refuge and WC alarms throughout the grandstand and new royal and private boxes.

The Jockey Club's objective is to have a PA/VA system that provides state-of-the-art evacuation messages throughout the venue and sound reinforcement for the comprehensive AV system. The technically demanding specification involved GBE performing extensive acoustic surveying and sampling to provide an accurate

Denmark - Following a major renovation, Danish boarding school, Vejle Idraetsefterskole, wanted to improve the classroom experience by engaging students in high-quality video learning. The dnp Supernova STS short throw front projection screen helped them achieve their aim in a cost-effective way, while eliminating some of the problems of the past caused by high natural daylight.

The high school itself focuses on sports talent development, and in an effort to improve the classroom element of their learning programme, it constructed a new wing with many large 'picture' windows to help students enjoy natural light throughout the day.

But while this creates a great, open environment for learning, with video presentations becoming increasingly part of the curriculum, students and teachers were experiencing washed out images in the new classrooms. The challenge was to find a screen

Namibia - After a wait of 30 years, Mad Max fans are revelling in the release of Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth in this successful action adventure film series starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult, and directed, produced and co-written by George Miller.

Award-winning production sound mixer Ben Osmo chose DPA's d:screet 4063 miniature microphones with low sensitivity and low voltage to record dialogue during the shooting of action scenes that involved fast, furious and bumpy chases across the Namibian desert. He also used DPA d:screet 4062 Miniature Microphones with extra low sensitivity for cabled recordings of various vehicles, and these were held firm inside each vehicle by DPA magnet mounts.

Osmo, who has won numerous awards for his work, says the choice of DPA microphones was an easy one to make as he had used them many times in the past and always

Europe - Meyer Sound has received three more orders for its new Leopard line array loudspeaker system from Megasound Sonorisation in Switzerland, Aukes Theatertechniek in the Netherlands, and DMS PRO in Poland. The three European rental houses are the latest to join a growing list of companies to invest in the patent-pending Leopard and its accompanying 900-LFC low-frequency control element since the system's debut in March.

"I realized at the demo that Leopard not only provided a remarkable listening experience but a new definition of live sound reinforcement," says Denis Gaillard of Prilly-based Megasound. "Regardless of output level, the instruments in the music remain in perfect balance. The power, transparency, and phase coherence create a deep sense of space, even at the limits of the primary coverage area." Adding to its Meyer Sound inventory of 70 lou

Blige to Madonna and Burt Bacharach, Camp's diverse portfolio includes his recent efforts with the Forbidden Saints, the Mississippi Orchestra and the Newark Philharmonic. Although his gigs vary, Camp's desire to provide his clients with the best possible equipment remains steadfast, and that's why he relies on DPA Microphones for his instrumental audio amplification needs.

Camp first started using DPA Microphones' d:screet 4061 Miniature Microphones about eight years ago for the symphony gigs that he was then mixing. "At the time, the d:screet 4061s on the strings sounded better than anything out there," says Camp. "Then, about six months ago, I was turned on to DPA's d:vote 4099s [Instr

Lebanon - Funktion-One's distributor in Lebanon, Audiotec Group, has installed sound systems at two new rooftop venues in Beirut. Caprice and Iris, which are both owned and operated by Addmind, are restaurant-bars that like to take things up a notch or two in the evenings.

Audiotec Group's managing partner, Ralph Choueiri, explains how the company got involved in the projects: "When Addmind contacted us to say they wanted to put Funktion-One systems into Caprice and Iris, we were very happy - these are two of the most exciting venues in Beirut. I know that the owners always look for the best quality there is, which is why they chose Funktion-One."

USA - Matanuska-Susitna College (MSC) has installed Alaska's first Meyer Sound Constellation acoustic system in its new Glenn Massay Theatre, a 523-seat facility purpose-built for Constellation. With the goal of accommodating a broad range of educational activities and arts performances in a single venue, the venue uses the system to provide ideal acoustics for all its events, including orchestral and choral concerts, student assemblies, lectures, fine arts performances, and amplified rock music.

"We're blown away by how great the room sounds," says theatre director Matt Sale. "It's hard to tell what is the room's own acoustical response and what is due to Constellation. If you walk in not knowing Constellation is on, you wouldn't think there was any enhancement. But when you turn it off, it's like when you have to pop your ears when going up in elevation."
