USA - Deptford Township High School serves over one-thousand students in the Philadelphia suburb of Deptford, New Jersey. Its Spartan football team is fiercely competitive and won the state sectional championships back-to-back in 2003 and 2004. However, like so many high schools, Deptford's game-day sound reinforcement system didn't live up to the passion of the team. It fell flat musically and caused fans to strain to hear announcements.

Local A/V integration firm Precision Audio, which just so happens to be headed by two Deptford Township High School alumni, pulled out the old system and replaced it with a Danley Sound Labs design comprised of three Danley OS-80 loudspeakers and two Danley OS-115 subwoofers, all of which are completely impervious to the elements and thus ready for any weather the East Coast can conjure.

"The old system was basically a handful of vinta

USA - Camarillo, California-based Rat Sound Systems provided a full 360 degrees of audio coverage for Bassnectar's New Year's Eve show in Birmingham, Alabama. The concert, which was held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Centre (BJCC) Legacy Arena, featured 72 Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) Anya modules flown in four double-wide clusters.

Bassnectar is well-known for his live performances, massive sound systems and light shows. Bassnectar NYE360, now in its fifth year, features a rotating stage at the centre of the arena designed to deliver maximum impact to his fans. The Legacy Arena seats up to 19,000 and was completely sold out for the event.

"After adapting Anya to Red Rocks in Colorado and now using it 360 degrees at BJCC - the system continues to amaze me," says Jason Decter, FOH engineer for Bassnectar. "It has such power and hi-fi clarity. It was no

USA - Clearwing Productions, an AV sales, service, event- production and integration services provider with locations in Milwaukee and Phoenix, acquired eight RedNet D16R AES rack-mount Dante interfaces, part of the full line of RedNet Dante network devices from Focusrite, nearly a year ago.

The D16R units have transformed how the company is able to move digital audio around for clients ranging from one troupe of the famed Blue Man Group to the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Three RedNet D16R units (along with three RedNet 1 eight channel A-D/D-A interfaces and one RedNet 2 sixteen-channel A-D/D-A interface) reside at the Blue Man Theatre at Luxor hotel and casino in Las Vegas, where Clearwing Productions was the systems integrator for the theatre's new sound system designed by Marcus Ross.

Europe - Swedish PA company, Parashoot, has completed a European tour with Norwegian singer songwriter, Ane Brun, using Allen & Heath's new dLive system to manage FoH and Monitors.

Parashoot's recently purchased dLive system, comprising the flagship S7000 Control Surface and DM64 MixRack, was immediately deployed on the tour, mixing both FOH and monitors on the same console.

"I have been using iLive endlessly over the last five years, and on the last two Ane Brun tours, culminating in over 200 shows. The timing of the dLive release couldn't have been better. The anticipation of more FX and more buses, made it the unchallenged winner for this tour. A&H makes the best digital live preamps, channel dynamics and onboard FX engines, so it was a no brainer," comments Parashoot's sound engineer and owner, Oscar Söderlund.

"The system latency is extremely low, and

Germany - Yamaha's MTX3 matrix mixer/signal processor is proving a popular solution for smaller, fixed audio installations where untrained staff are in day-to-day control of the system. Houses of worship are an ideal example, with three German churches recently commissioning MTX3-based systems.

Steinheim-based Klartext AV has installed two of the systems, one in the town of Kohlberg, the other in Oggenhausen.

The Kohlberg installation includes an MTX3 with Yamaha XMV4140 multi-channel power amplifier and DCP4V4S wall-mounted control. The four buttons and rotary controls of the DCP4V4S make it very straightforward for church staff to have comprehensive control over the system, which includes fixed microphones at the pulpit and altar, wireless handheld and headset mics, plus a piano. By touching a single control, the system can be instantly reconfigured for a range of uses.

Star Tribute - The life of David Bowie was celebrated with a tribute concert at a London chapel. Hundreds of fans packed out Islington's Grade I-listed Union Chapel to pay homage to the musician who died of cancer on 10 January. The service saw an eclectic mix of artists, including the Magic Numbers and ex-Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, perform the star's music.

Fans filled the small north London chapel as Bowie's best-known tunes, played by an organ, echoed around the hall. A huge screen showed images of the star in his many guises, before the part gig, part remembrance service kicked off with a rousing mass sing-along of Starman. Maggie Ronson, sister of late Bowie guitarist and collaborator Mick Ronson, was joined by The Featherz to sing Ziggy Stardust, paying tribute to Bowie's "massive influence".

The system, which is still in use today, continues to receive compliments from those that perform in the space.

Recently DV2 was called upon to design another system for the Claude Debussy Theatre, the second largest theatre, with a seating capacity of 1,068. DV2 designed a system featuring the new Adamson S Series line arrays. Dushow, one of the biggest rental and installation companies in France, was res

UK - Provider of technical production services, Adlib, recently invested in Coda's new AiRAY fully integrated compact 2 x12" / 3-way line array system. Adlib have been involved with Coda for several years having first bought the AIRLINE LA12 and ViRAY systems and subsequently supplementing those with the smaller TiRAY system. Happy with the performance of its Coda range, Adlib were naturally keen to explore any advantages offered by the AiRAY system and identified a number of positives that prompted an immediate investment. From their comprehensive experience of the industry, Adlib identified what they saw as a gap in provision for theatre productions where smaller available line-array systems were not quite adequate but where the requirement for 'the next size up' in the shape of systems designed for arenas, constituted an overkill in both audio provision and trucking requir
