Chris Courtney mixed monitors for Travis at the Isle of Wight Festival
UK - Soundcraft's UK and Eire distributor, Sound Technology reports that both its award-winning Vi6 FOH console, and the latest addition to the Vi range - the Vi3000 - have both rocked the festival circuit this summer.

The Vi6 was deployed by premier hire company, Adlib, on events including Creamfields, the Liverpool International Music Festival, Kendall Calling Festival and the Wakestock Festival.

Now firmly established on riders, the Vi6 has been acclaimed as one of the easiest to use, most ergonomic, user friendly and best-sounding large format digital consoles around. Thanks to the integration of a proven DSP engine and algorithms from sister firm, Studer, the audio quality is crystal clear. The Vi6 also boasts an incredibly tactile "where you look is where you control' operating philosophy. The world-class effects and processing from Lexicon and BSS sets the Vi6 apart.

Adlib director and project manager, Dave Jones, stated, "We've had a very busy festival period this Summer within the chaotic nature of festival slots and quick turnarounds, it's important that we have a desk that we can trust to perform solidly and reliably in varying conditions. The Soundcraft Vi6 has been a flawless performer for us this Summer."

Kent based Phonophobia has embraced the potential of the Vi3000 this summer. With 96 channels, the Vi3000 is the first Soundcraft console to incorporate a Dante interface as part of its extensive connectivity, with a full set of analogue and digital I/O's and upgraded DSP.

Mark Chant, MD, of Phonophobia enthused: "The Vi3000 was an exciting addition to our rental stocks. Already having a Soundcraft infrastructure helped it slot in perfectly to our rental, show and touring operations. The console was sent to work straight away and we are all so pleased with its performance and the response we are receiving from clients and guest engineers.

"With a platform that is very similar to the Vi4 and Vi6 there is no question when it comes to its functionality, quality and ease of use. Even first time Soundcraft users have been very at home with the board. For us, the screens are kind on the eye, even on a long gig. The local ins and outs are a godsend. And with the Dante and MADI it's literally the tool which fixes everything for us. There's no question that there will be more Vi3000s added to our rental stock."

With the company's established reputation as a Vi User, SSE Audio Group wasted no time in securing one of the first Vi3000s - and sound engineer Chris Courtney immediately had it out at the Isle of Wight Festival where he mixed monitors for Travis.

Pete Russell, project manager at SSE explained: "With its improved preamp and better features, and without the need of a separate stage box and local rack, it's ideal for bands to carry from festival to festival as its easily compatible with any line system."
