The events are aimed at industry professionals looking to broaden their skillset
UK - PLASA has announced three new professional development training events aimed at industry professionals looking to broaden their skillset.
The events, taking place in November and February, will cover creative branding, problem-solving solutions and the latest electrical and wiring regulations, coming into force from January.
The branding, communications and strategy workshop is taking place on 21 November at Leisuretec’s HQ in Leighton Buzzard. It will be led by PR specialist Lauren Rogers of Burnt Orange (the Big Chill Festival; FIFA Club World Cup Abu Dhabi) and explore the importance of unique branding and how to differentiate in an authentic way. Businesses of all types and sizes are encouraged to attend.
On 22 November, LSi columnist and electrical consultant James Eade will provide updates to the 18th edition Wiring Regulations in a seminar and workshop at the London premises of drapes and rigging supplier, Blackout. Eade has authored IET guidance on temporary electrical systems and represents the industry on the British Standards Committee for IET Wiring Regulations. Designed for manufacturers, distributors, venue owners and end-users, this technical day will help delegates to understand their legal obligations of ensuring electrical safety in the workplace, be that on a factory floor or festival field.
On 14 February 2019, Caroline Russell from the Ideas Centre will present a session on creative problem-solving at Stage Electrics’ premises in Bristol.
Russell, who also spoke at PLASA’s Annual General Meeting in May, will challenge traditional thinking that trap delegates in a world of “more of the same”. Starting out as an analytical chemist in the sports anti-doping industry, she made the move into operational and project management. This workshop is relevant to all those who are stuck in a rut or whose leadership has become stale, say the organisers.
