Submissions open for ABTT awards

Bestowed by peers and industry experts each year at the ABTT Theatre Show in June, the awards - including Product Awards for Engineering, Sound, & Lighting and the award for Widget of the Year - are open to any company or individual whose products have been “substantially new” to the market during the last 12 months and are available for purchase, immediate delivery and use.
An award for ABTT Theatre Show Stand of the Year is open to 2019 show exhibitors only.
To be considered, the entries must be available for adjudication during the first day of the ABTT Theatre Show on 5 June (Wednesday) at London’s Alexandra Palace, either on their exhibition stand or hosted by one of the pre-registered exhibitors.
Last year’s winners included EM Acoustic’s EMS-41 (Sound Product), Martin’s MAC Encore Wash (Lighting Product), MDG’s Round Floor Pocket (Engineering Product) and Flint’s ‘6 in 1’ & ‘3 in 1’ Staplers (Widget).
Technician of the Year
The search for the 2019 Technician of the Year is also gathering pace, with deadline for nominations 31 May (Friday). Open to ABTT members and non-members, recipients have usually pursued full employment in a backstage or production management role for at least 10 years and have predominantly worked on the presentation of live performance in places of entertainment or on theatrical experiences in non-conventional spaces.
Nominations for 2019 can be submitted directly to the ABTT Office at office@abtt.org.uk or through a simple online form.
