LS-Live recently designed and built the stage set for touring artist Tinie Tempah
UK - Entertainment industry training centre Backstage Academy has launched an exclusive PLASA competition for one lucky student to win a week's work experience at LS-Live, helping on the set build of a touring artist.

Sponsored by leading trade publication L&Si, the first prize will enable a young student to gain valuable experience at an internationally renowned set design and construction business, based at the LS-Live Studios in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. LS-Live has worked on stage shows of famous artists such as Kasabian, Jay-Z, Tinie Tempah and Robbie Williams, with many of them rehearsing in its arena-sized production rehearsal studio.

The second prize, sponsored by the UK's biggest distributor of Apple and Adobe products, Jigsaw Systems, is an iPod and a 50% voucher off any Short Course or Career Course at Backstage Academy. There are also 25 third prizes; 10% off vouchers for Backstage Academy's Short Courses and Career Courses.

Any student who signs up their details on the Backstage Academy stand (2-S37 in the Colleges section of EC2) at the PLASA 2012 exhibition in Earls Court will be automatically entered into the competition.

Following the PLASA Show, students will still be able to enter the competition by signing up their details on the Backstage Academy website, until the closing date of midnight on 8 October 2012.

Winners will be notified via email or telephone on 9 October 2012. Due to the nature of tour rehearsals, Backstage Academy cannot guarantee the date of the week's work experience and reserves the right to change the given date at any time. The 1st prize will be offered within six months from the competition closing date. The above prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. All course vouchers are valid for one year, until 8 October 2013.
