The Touring Gear live microphone series debut at Prolight+Sound
Germany - Beyerdynamic is celebrating the debut of its new Touring Gear live microphone series at Prolight+Sound 2011.

Touring Gear represents "a whole new chapter in microphone innovation for beyerdynamic". There are four categories in the TG (Touring Gear) series of live microphones TG30, TG50, TG70 and TG90. The TG series includes (V) Vocal, (H) Headset, (L) Lavalier, (D) Drum and (I) Instrument microphones and all models feature beyerdynamic's new Sound Channelling Technology.

The TG 30 series is billed as the perfect introduction into the world of beyerdynamic - an entry level series that can produce large beyerdynamic sound within a small budget.

The TG 50 series covers all applications related to the stage - from vocals, instruments and drums to headsets and lavalier microphones.

The TG 70 series microphones feature advanced technical characteristics and higher quality materials. Attention to detail was paramount in the design and manufacturing of all the TG series microphones resulting in first-class microphones handcrafted in Germany, says the company.

The TG 90 is the flagship Touring Gear microphone range for users who "are looking for the ultimate in microphone performance". The TG 90 series includes the TGV90r ribbon microphone and the TG V96c true condenser microphone for live vocal applications.

Mario Gebhardt, audio products development manager, beyerdynamic commented, "It is indeed a highlight when decades of experience in microphone engineering are combined with the ideas of young engineers and the requests coming from musicians and audio technicians and the result is not just a single microphone, but a whole series.

"Our goal was to retain the best elements from our existing models and combine these with the latest technology and materials. At the same time, we have made space for new ideas and implemented them. One such result is Sound Channelling Technology, which lets us specifically work on acoustic design in order to achieve optimal sound, exceeding the standard parameters of a microphone system. When combined with outstanding design, excellent handling, and extreme sturdiness, the result is a thoroughly consistent live microphone series."
