UK - Flare Audio is pleased to announce that it will shortly be opening a new R&D and demo facility in West Sussex, UK. Building work is currently underway and is on schedule to complete shortly. The 6000sqft building will also house the company's new head office.

In other news from Flare, the company welcomes D&E international as its official distributer in Hong Kong. Davies Roberts from Flare Audio comments: "We are very pleased to welcome D&E International into our network and we look forward to a long and successful business relationship with them. We are honoured to have such an established company join our international network so early."

The Flare Audio team are currently developing a new compact, multi format high pack (due late Spring 2011) that can be used as a true line source enclosure, point source enclosure or close field monitor. "Using technology gained from Stealth Array this new high pack speaker will be able to be setup as a standard line array, point source cluster and standard high pack / monitor speaker. Made from the highest quality Birch Ply and featuring an interchangeable aluminium HF waveguide the speaker is set to revolutionise the medium sized line array/high pack market," says the company.

Roberts quotes: "We believe the time is right for a very high quality line array system that is also highly flexible and versatile; the sound quality produced by this new speaker is simply breathtaking, its flexibility will be key to hire companies who will love the fact it is so compact and flexible whilst being extremely high quality. The speaker can scale from a small single stand alone monitor to a 20 hang line array for large scale events."

Also in the pipeline and due late Sprint 2011 is a new bass enclosure from Flare. Roberts comments: "Rather than people just feeling bass we want them to hear every single detail and these new bass enclosures are quite simply revolutionary at doing that. Our aim is to produce the highest possible definition from a bass enclosure as well as being highly compact, highly directional and easy to use. We want people to feel the kick drum pedal hitting the skin of the bass drum rather than just a thud, when people put their hands in the air they can touch each note. I believe we have achieved true bass definition with this new enclosure, it will mark a major advance in speaker design and put Flare Audio at the forefront of cutting edge of pro-audio speaker technology."

A detailed paper explaining how Flare Audio has achieved directional bass will be released when the product is announced in late spring 2011.
