Kenya - Kenya Music Week, which runs from 9-12 December, will provide an opportunity to take stock of the African pro audio and music scene. Around 50 leading African dealers and distributors will be presenting their wares at the Sarit Centre Expo Hall in Nairobi.

As well as an extensive range of seminars and workshops, a diverse concert and entertainment programme will be among the major attractions of the event. In addition to established stars from Kenya and beyond, such as Abbas, Holy Dave, Sisko and Pili Pili, several hundred up-and-coming acts are scheduled to appear.

Electro-Voice and Dynacord partner Audio Visual Engineering (AVE) is not only one of the exhibitors, but also one of the sponsors of the fair. The Nairobi-based team led by Omar Abdalla Sheikh will be presenting for the first time anywhere in Central Africa the new PowerMate powered mixer from Dynacord and the premiere of the XLC 127DVX compact line-array system from Electro-Voice in Kenya. Technical support will be offered by Electro-Voice at the fair.

"Thanks to a number of prestige installations and above all their magnificent performance at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Dynacord and Electro-Voice systems have a great image on the continent," says Omar Abdalla Sheikh. "Any new product from either of these brands is sure therefore to attract the closest attention of the entire African pro audio sector. Our booth was already packed last year, but this year we are expecting a still greater throng."
