Pauline Tambling.
UK - Pauline Tambling has been appointed appointed managing director of the National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills (NSA).

Pauline has been working as acting managing director of the NSA for the past five months. In this time she has set up the NSA Board, launched the NSA website and is leading a capital bid to build a Centre of Excellence on the Royal Opera House Production Park in Thurrock. She has successfully recruited over 170 industry members from the live music, events and theatre industries, who will work in collaboration with the NSA's 20 Founder Colleges to deliver world-class training for the world's greatest stages.

Pauline has extensive knowledge and experience of the creative and cultural sector, having worked as a senior member of Arts Council England for nine years, where her role included policy, research, training and setting up Creative Partnerships - the £130 million scheme to engage young people in schools with creative practitioners and organisations. More recently she has worked as COO for Creative & Cultural Skills. Previously she set up and ran the Education Department at the Royal Opera House.

Pauline Tambling said: "I am very pleased to have been asked to lead the new National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural Skills working with our Chair, Paul Latham. I am particularly pleased to be working with the network of Industry Members and Founder Colleges to improve skills development opportunities for people working in live music, events and technical theatre, whether they are just entering employment or have been working in the sector for years."

Paul Latham, Chair of the NSA, said: "I am delighted that Pauline Tambling has been appointed as the permanent managing director of the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills. We received many applications for the role from excellent candidates but none of them were able to show the same breadth of experience and understanding, nor the passion for the position. I look forward to working with Pauline to ensure there is continued expansion of the NSA and its membership, to work towards the goal of delivering sustainable training for employment for those in the Creative Industries."

Tom Bewick, Group Chief Executive of Creative & Cultural Skills said: "I'm delighted to appoint Pauline to her new role. I have no doubt she will continue to inspire credibility in the mission of our NSA, which is to deliver world class skills to an economically important and culturally vibrant sector."
