Celebrating Indian weddings at the Natural History Museum
UK - The Earth Hall at the Natural History Museum was selected as the venue for the exclusive book launch of Rutland Hall Publishing’s Timeless Treasures, an illustrated hardback showcasing regal Indian weddings.
The Museum welcomed over 300 guests who spent the evening exploring the regal culture of Indian marriages, characterised by abundant gift-giving and lavish displays of jewellery and textiles.
The Earth Hall provided an inspirational backdrop for the canapé and drinks reception, welcome speeches and glittering showcase of new high-end fashion collections from Sabyasachi and Cartier. Guests were invited to purchase signed copies of the new release and offered the rare opportunity to privately view the Earth’s Treasury collections throughout the course of the evening.
Maia by The AC’s project manager Charlie Womack oversaw the venue’s event design, ensuring the Earth Hall’s decor was modern whilst reflecting the book cover’s colour scheme of deep fuchsia.
George Foden, Wise Productions’ head of events created a stunning lighting design featuring a colour palette of reds and golds along each side of the Earth Hall. The venue’s ceiling above the main entrance was enhanced with a beautiful pattern wash, plus additional staircase lighting to complete the design.
A number of moving lights created excitement and energy as the models, showcasing the latest Indian wedding fashions, descended from the staircase. Wise Productions also provided a show-stopping centrepiece, a beautiful circular bar finished with a luxurious gold mirror offering a dazzling backdrop to the drinks reception.
Natural History Museum’s head of venue hire Robert Wetherell adds, “With our event spaces featuring in the new publication, it was a thrill to host the launch and champion the prestigious nature of Indian wedding venues. The Earth Hall lends itself perfectly to events that are looking for a wow-factor space to match the magnitude of the occasion.”
