Rocketchris owner Christian Glatthor with FM founder Gary Yates
Germany - LMP Lichttechnik, distribution partner for Follow-Me, has been working to support the sales of the new scalable Follow-Me Track-iT system which is now available in Germany with both design and production companies Essen-based Rocketchris, and Virtual&Live in the Munich region.
Both companies have become avid users of Follow-Me 3D as their go-to follow-spot system.
Christian Glatthor, owner of Rocketchris has been using Follow-Me since the beginning of Follow-Me 3D and the LMP Partnership with Follow-Me. Well known to the Follow-Me team, Chris’ invaluable knowledge of Follow-Me has often been used for testing of beta features and also strength testing for Follow-Me Track-iT for outdoor production use. He uses Follow-Me widely across his companies work, for design, rental and operation.
Recently Follow-Me 3D SIX Systems were used by Rocketchris, designing for productions such as Rea Garvey, Apache 207 and as FM tech on Eurovision Junior Song Contest 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia. Chris is busy on a regular basis as designer using Follow-Me and also as FM Tech and operator on a number of TV Shows and Concerts.
Of his investment in Follow-Me Track-iT, Chris says “it was the next logical step to also invest in Follow-Me Track-iT. With this system extension (to Follow-Me 3D) there are now even more possibilities to use Follow-Me”. Reflecting back to last year when supporting LMP and Follow-Me on a rather special demo in Germany, Chris comments: “I was allowed to be convinced of the quality, also with the combination of full auto tracking and manual ‘backups’ this gives a significantly higher operational reliability compared to other systems on the market.”
Niklas Schmitt owner of Virtual&Live jumped in with Follow-Me a year ago, seeing the advantages of using this flexible follow-spot solution on his technically creative productions. Niklas began his Follow-Me journey with Follow-Me on a production of Alice in Wonderland, then Klassik on Odeonsplatz in Munich, and using it on a corporate event for Lufthansa were he immediately saw the power of unlimited independent fixture selection in the Follow-Me 3D SIX System, utilising more of his lighting rig (60 x Mac Ultras) in Follow-Me for both key lighting and effect lighting.
Niklas has continued with his SIX system for the DJ Bobo tour in Germany, a complex spectacle that requires multiple fixtures (160 moving heads from multiple manufacturers in the FM show file) to be available for follow-spotting from multiple angles in the different venues of the tour, taking into consideration the 9.5 metre height difference of the staging. Niklas stated that Follow-Me enables him to “have fun with creativity and technology” whilst ensuring the lighting enhances and supports the performance and spectacle for the audience to enjoy.
