Another new radio mic system, the ATW 1600 is one of three introductions from Audio-Technica. A UHF system with 16 switchable frequencies, this system requires the manual selection of handheld mic channel, neatly hidden in a tamper-proof section of the mic handle. A new capsule and simple two-colour LED battery power indicators complete this MI and semi-pro targeted unit. The entry-level Midnight Blues range includes two vocal and two instrument mics. All feature a MagnaLock soft on/off switch. In the Pro series, the 242 has been re-vamped, as have the 41 and 61, with improvements to frequency response and dynamic range.
