Canada - The event production community was shocked by another stage collapse tragedy on Saturday (16 June), when a partial roof collapse at Downsview Park, Toronto, killed one crew member and injured three others.

Voices Off - The 11-date tour for The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales. The gigs were due to feature eight of the show's finalists. The tour was to begin at the Bournemouth International Centre on 12 September and was then due to visit venues in Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Glasgow and Sheffield. The University of Central Lancashire is partnering the bass guitarist and other music industry figures in a degree in management and promotion. Olympic Countdown - The Musicians' Union has accused Olympic organisers LOCOG of breaking the terms of their agreement on performers' pay. The union claims that it has received reports from several musicians who have been asked to play at Olympic gigs for no fee and that it has forwarded these onto LOCOG.
