12 September will mark the first anniversary of White Light taking possession of its new HQ building in Wimbledon, south-west London. Since 12 September is also the day after the PLASA Show, White Light has decided to hold a post-PLASA, one-year celebration Open Day - and everyone is invited!

For most of its 30-year history, White Light was based in a quirky but much-loved building tucked away in the back-streets of Fulham, taking over other space nearby as it expanded into the White Light Group during the nineties. As the number and scale of the White Light Group’s projects continued to expand, finding a new home which would allow all of the Group’s activities to be brought back together under one roof became a top priority; after a long search, the White Light Group - including White Light Hire, White Light Sales, The Moving Light Company, The Service Company, Colourhouse and Enliten - moved to Wimbledon last autumn.

As many people have discovered in the year since - whether visiting for specific projects, attending the regular training sessions run by White Light’s ‘The Training Initiative’ scheme, or enjoying the first Open Day held last January - the new base offers greatly improved conditions for preparing rigs, and very easy access by car, truck, tube, train, bus or even tram!

The post-PLASA Open Day will take place on September 12 between 1pm and 7pm at White Light, 20 Merton Industrial Park, Jubilee Way, Wimbledon, London SW19 3WL. All are welcome to visit, talk and look at the diverse range of products White Light offers, including equipment from Robert Juliat, or just gossip and drink wine! Full details can be found by visiting the White Light web site at the address below, or calling on +44 (0)20 8254 4800.

For those who can’t make the Open Day, the White Light Group will, of course, also be out in force at the PLASA Show from September 8th-11th, occupying its usual position on stand F4, just inside the front doors of Earls Court.
