UK - Under-construction Bradford College is set to light-up the City centre using a high-tech lighting display from 22 November.

The spectacular sequenced light show will be visible for around three miles from the new build scheme and accompanied by an audio soundtrack to create visual entertainment from 5pm each night until 20 December.

The patterns and colours will be generated from the base of two tower cranes and projected upwards vertically as far as 39 metres. A seasonal goodwill message will be projected onto the gable end of the existing Kent building.

UK - Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's finances have received a long-term boost after cost-saving LED lighting was installed throughout its Leatherhead headquarters.

The Trust's offices are now benefitting from the improved light and significant energy savings generated by 500 standard and 80 emergency light fittings supplied by Dartford-based 8point3 LED.

The company, which manufactures its fittings at its own factory in Belvedere, Kent, won the contract after supplying the Trust with a competitive and aesthetically pleasing LED package.

UK - To celebrate 50 years of their music, The Rolling Stones kicked off this year's holiday festivities on London's Carnaby Street, switching on the annual Carnaby Street lighting display with a rock n' roll twist.

For the temporary installation, Patrick Woodroffe, lighting designer for The Stones since 1989, collaborated with James Glancy Design to transform London's historical shopping and music district for the season. Puerto Rico - Chauvet Professional is once again the choice for a new season of Idol Puerto Rico show, which airs on WAPA-TV Canal 4, one of the most viewed TV stations in the country.

USA - The University of California at Berkeley and Ithaca College (NY) have added Robert Juliat Cyrano and Buxie followspots, respectively, to their theatrical lighting inventories.

UC Berkeley has invested in four Cyrano followspots purchased from Musson Theatrical. "They asked for several demos and were excited about the Cyranos," says Musson Theatrical's Dinna Myers. Denmark - On Saturday, 10 November, lighting designer Kasper Lange turned to a large Martin MAC rig that included Martin Professional's new MAC Viper Profile for the 2012 Danish Music Awards at Forum in Copenhagen.

The event, broadcast live on Danish station TV2, honored Denmark's top musical names of the year with performances from Nephew, Outlandish and many others beneath a mix of Martin LED and HID sources.
