UK / The Netherlands - At this year's autumn exhibitions - PLASA 2011 in London and IBC in Amsterdam - Riedel Communications celebrates the MediorNet Compact Euro premiere. MediorNet Compact is the first 50 G multimedia stagebox with integrated WDM. It is the cost effective and easy-to-use entry into the Riedel MediorNet world of integrated media signal distribution and processing, says the company.

It provides the flexibility of a true real-time media network, including integrated signal processing, at the cost of simple multiplexing point-to-point products. With a network bandwidth of 50 Gbit/s, MediorNet Compact provides enough capacity for bi-directional transport of 12 HD-SDI signals, dozens of MADI streams or Gbit-Ethernet signals and hundreds of audio channels or intercom ports - suitable for streamlining the infrastructure of any mobile, studio or live event application.

UK - TMB will introduce a host of new products at next month's PLASA Show (Earls Court, London, 11 - 14 September).

Products premiering at PLASA include the Cygnus Incite 375W Profile, the latest addition to the Cygnus range of LED fixtures by Wybron - exclusively distributed in the UK by TMB. Incite offers unprecedented lumens-per-Watt efficiency, with a CRI up to 92 (5x the brightness of competing fixtures). The quiet, advanced thermal management system ensures optimal output and consistent colour for many years. Proprietary in-lens colour-mixing technology provides smooth, virtually rainbow-free shadows. Advanced electronics provide step-free dimming over the longest fades, and Incite is fully RDM capable. The Cygnus family also includes the super-bright LED Wash and Studio Series.

UK - LD Systems has launched the DP2400X, the newest member of the DEEP family of power amplifiers. The key specifications are 2 x 1200 W at 2 ohms, 2 x 950 W at 4 ohms and 2 x 600 W at 8 ohms RMS power. Like the other power amplifiers in the DEEP series, the DP2400X uses class H circuitry powered by a conventional power supply.

The protective circuitry is also identical with that used in the DEEP2 series. It also follows the DEEP2 design in its integration of two temperature-dependent two step cooling fans. One special feature is a switchable 12 dB low-cut and/or 12 dB low-pass filter adjustable from 25 Hz to 150 Hz on both channels. This makes it possible to use the DP2400X as a bass amp or even realize a powerful bi-amping system. With the filters switched off, it becomes a conventional 2 channel power amp.

USA - The Platinum Beam 5R from Elation uses the new, advanced MSD Platinum 5R lamp from Philips, an innovation that allows manufacturers to design fixtures that are much more compact and energy efficient. Although it looks like a traditional ACL effect, with a concentrated "searchlight" type beam that's comparable to much higher wattage fixtures in brightness, the Platinum Beam 5R's ultra-efficient lamp runs on only 189 watts.

"Back in the Seventies, ACL effects became very popular at rock concerts. They produced powerful, tight beacon-like beams that resembled the lights of an aircraft on a landing strip," said Eric Loader, director of sales for Elation Professional. "But the Platinum Beam 5R certainly isn't your father's ACL light. Already seen and used on TV shows, concerts, stadiums and festivals, this small but powerful moving head can be used in a

UK - After Germany , United States and Italy , Outline's large-format line-source system will be on show in London , on stand G35 at the PLASA Show, from 11-14 September.

The result of a positive two-year cooperation between Outline and some of the world's best-known rental companies, the first GTO - Grand Touring systems featured on high-profile concerts and tours, initially in the USA and then Europe. Those systems were not prototypes, but already standard production models, the same as those officially presented in Frankfurt just four months ago.

At PLASA 2011 the Italian company is unveiling its GTO-DF (down-fill). This is an element that is mechanically compatible with GTO and conceived and designed with a sole aim: providing audio coverage for the first rows of the audience in every type of event at which GTO systems are used. UK / Belgium - ArKaos has chosen PLASA 2011 to launch its radical new network protocol, Kling-Net.

Kling-Net has been designed to allow the distribution of real-time video data to remote display devices, such as LEDs or LED panels, over Ethernet.

"Many basic and first time users are afraid of using LED lighting because of the complexity of networking and control issues," says ArKaos CEO, Marco Hinic. "Traditionally, using and networking LED lighting has required a high level of technical knowledge which has been a deterent for many. We wanted to remove all this complexity and replace it with a simple to use protocol which automatically takes care of the magic numbers for the user."

Kling-Net uses a Media Server to do all the work to make operation simplicity itself. It adds a layer of 'intelligence' to even the most simple LED device and enabling it to ta

UK - Brighton-based Traction Sound will be exhibiting its SDS loudspeaker range on AC Entertainment Technologies Stand (1-E10) at the PLASA show.

The company's SDS sound systems uses "the latest technology to deliver accurate sound reproduction at high SPL. The results are heavy duty loudspeakers that sound and look great".

The SDS Horn uses an array of soft dome tweeters producing the same energy as a compression driver from a much larger source area. Replacing compression drivers excludes the inherent air distortion (wave steepening) and diaphragm break up common to pro-audio loudspeakers. This gives the SDS Horn exceptional clarity, balance and control, says the company.

Paul Atherton, pro audio sales manager at Traction Sound's main partner RW Salt comments, "We're used to a lot of product demonstrations but when the Traction Sound guys started showing us

USA - Sensaphonics has announced the immediate availability of the Dry & Store Zephyr, an electronic desiccant system "so effective it actually deodorizes while it dries earphones". The Zephyr combines gentle heat, moving air, and a powerful desiccant (drying agent) to extract moisture and body oils while drying earwax for easy removal.

In testing with customers whose high levels of sweat and body oils can cause their IEMs to fail, using the Dry & Store Zephyr eliminated all residual moisture from the earphones. Significantly, close examination of the earphones in Sensaphonics labs showed no build-up of body oils inside the earphones, even after two months of use, says the company.

"We're very excited by this product, especially for IEM users whose high levels of sweat can actually cause product failure," states Sensaphonics president Michael Santucci. &quo
