UK - Midas Productions is the first temporary power company to switch on to European fuel Green B+ diesel, a drop-in renewable that massively outperforms both bio and fossil diesel.

Developed in conjunction with, and distributed exclusively by, Green Biofuels, independent tests show that, at 70 per cent of maximum generator load, Green B+ slashes NOx emissions by 27 per cent compared to red diesel and particulates CO, THC and SO2 by even greater numbers. All other load settings showed comparable savings.

Green B+ has indefinite storage life, comparable productivity to gas oil and, containing no aromatics, results in far less maintenance on the engine than both biodiesel and red diesel. It also delivers a 55 per cent reduction in greenhouse gases against red diesel.

Canada - Built for the Commonwealth Games in 1978, Commonwealth Stadium is Canada's second largest outdoor sports venue. Seating 60,000 fans, the stadium hosts soccer, Edmonton Eskimos football and other sporting and entertainment events.

When Commonwealth was built, most stadiums utilized an end-zone, scoreboard-mounted loudspeaker system. However, to minimize neighbourhood noise bleed, consultant Ken Dickensheets of Dickensheets Design in Austin, TX, designed the original system as a central loudspeaker array housed in a unique metal pod. The pod was supported by four large aircraft cables and could be lowered to the ground for service.

This system served the stadium for several decades with voice-range audio. However, modern sports fans and associations like FIFA now expect full-range audio for music and clear announcements that are loud enough to be heard over crowd noise.

They can rely on QSC for solutions built around performance, reliability, ease of use-backed by people who care."

USA - While Hollywood star Steve Martin and singer/songwriter Edie Brickell might seem an unlikely pairing to write a musical, their shared love of bluegrass music resulted in Bright Star, a story of love and loss in North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains. Delicate reproduction of the bluegrass score was vital to the show's success, which is why sound designer Nevin Steinberg chose an Alcons pro-ribbon sound system.

Bright Star's world premiere took place at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, where the combination of the show's music and the theatre's physical attributes lent themselves perfectly to benefitting from Alcons pro-ribbon audio technology.

"We were looking to deliver high resolution sound in a comparatively small theatre and I also needed the flexibility of line array," says Nevin. "I had been introduced to Alcons through trade publicat
