UK - XL Events continued a long term working relationship with the Brainiac phenomenon, supplying sound, video and lighting production to the Brainiac Live show which made its West End debut at The Palace Theatre in London.

The UK creative producer is Dan Colman, and XL Events' director Rich Rowley has been associated with the show that 'laughs in the face of science' for the last six years, ever since it first went 'live' and on the road in 2008 following an award winning five year run on Sky TV. During this time it has acquired a serious cult following.

UK - On 27 June 2013, ACC Liverpool hosted Accelerate 2013, a flagship festival dedicated to high-growth businesses.

The event gathered 2,000 delegates, all with the ambition to boost Britain's economy. The conference objective was to motivate the best of British business to strive even higher and equip them with the inspiration and insight to do so.

The production needed to be innovative and colourful to reflect the positive mood of the event and create an atmosphere that would leave attendees feeling galvanised.

China - The location was especially selected, the scenery perfectly prepared: FAW-VW Audi Sales Division China celebrated a spectacular show for their annual Ice & Snow Experience event with a spectacular outdoor staging. This year it took place in the Chinese ski resort Changbaishan in 1'500m above sea level in January 2013. Nearly 500 spectators from Europe and Asia were present and enjoyed the outdoor snow performance - at -30°C air temperature.

For the presentation of different Audi cars of the Q and Quattro series, a complete slope was prepared with snow-hills, big illuminated brand and car model signs and a gigantic lighting setup. This helped in changing the scenery quickly and put additional focus on the very model presented.

The festival - under the artistic direction of Lak Mitchell and Chris Rutherford - is one of the UK's most and vibrant events and the Lion's Den Stage is acclaimed for its awesome line up of established reggae artists and emerging talent.

Langridge has worked in the display business since 1990, initially with a US-based company which manufactured LCD tablets for the presentation market, before moving into the AV business where he provided bespoke video solutions. UK - Audiences were wowed at The Transmissions Live From Jodrell Bank this weekend as the iconic Lovell Telescope was transformed into a spectacular backdrop in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sir Bernard Lovell, founder and first director of the Jodrell Bank Observatory. Managed by production company Ear To The Ground, the event was the final weekend of The Transmissions series, taking place on the 30-31 August.

Aberdeen-based events and rental company, Granite City Events has invested in Highlite Internationals DMT P12.5 Pixel Mesh Video Screen. Company owner Barry Sheriffs says: "We have been looking at video/pixel wall screen products for a while now; it was brought to my attention about the new Highlite DMT P12.5 Pixelmesh, which is priced within the budget we had to spend, so a demo was requested".

Malcolm Burlow and Dave Drane of Highlite UK brought eight panels of the P12.5 screen to the Stonehaven warehouse to do a full demonstration. UK - Sarah Cox, a well-known member of the AV industry, starts her new position at Green Hippo Ltd. within the company's sales team as technical sales manager for several European territories including France, Italy and Spain. Additionally, she will also spend some of her time as a HippoSchool trainer, working alongside head of training Simon Harris.

Previously Cox spent three and a half years with TMB, Green Hippo's exclusive Hippotizer distributors in the Americas.

Working closely with TMB's clients in the UK, Sarah spent a great deal of her time on the road, providing demonstrations and training whilst also attending open-days and tradeshows.

Charles Steward has been appointed as head of managed services, to head-up and drive the fast-growing Eclipse Services division of the company.
