The Netherlands - Loudspeaker manufacturer Duran Audio has recently released V2.40 of their WinControl software, which is the control and monitoring software for their AXYS brand of loudspeakers. The company is now offering "the ultimate control over all of its DSP based products".

All AXYS Intellivox, IndustryAmp, Octadrive DSP, Sound Reinforcement (Scope, Source, Flex; G2ranges) and Target products are fitted with a powerful DSP and can be networked; via an RS-485 network.

To gain full control of the wide range of features offered by the DSP and also the eight on board pre-sets the products can be connected to WinControl which allows users to control a host of features.

In addition to WinControl, Duran Audio will also be launching an iPhone app and a wireless RS-48

Artistic Licence Engineering will be showing its latest product releases including Multichrome-Flex, Flexed-Up and Two-Play XT at PLASA Focus, along with a selection of it's expanding range of lighting control products.

These include test equipment, data distribution and LED lighting which incorporate the protocols of DMX, RDM, Ethernet, Art-Net, DALI and MIDI. Visitors to the stand can also discover more about Rail-DMX-DSI, LMX6, DMX-Buffer and the latest release, Rail-Pipe HC, a six channel, high current, constant voltage DMX compatible controller for passive LED fixtures.

Celebrating the company's 30th Anniversary, UK-based 5 Star Cases will be launching new products, showcasing its most popular current ranges, meeting existing clients and seeking new ones at PLASA Focus.

New products will include 5 Star's Venue range of general purpose cases. This sees a slight departure for 5 Star, in that the main material used is a lightweight honeycombed polypropylene. This offers significant weight savings over traditional plywood carcass constructed cases, and will be suitable for small to medium sized applications of all types.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's Transformation project, which was completed last autumn with the opening of the new Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford upon Avon, was a singular development in world theatre.

Embodying a host of new techniques and technologies, it was uncompromisingly designed to create "the best place in the world to perform Shakespeare," in the words of artistic director Michael Boyd.
