The VOITH Arena – named after the largest employer in the region

Germany - What was once the Alb Stadium and later, after extensive building and renovation work, the GAGFAH Arena in Heidenheim was recently renamed the VOITH Arena after the largest employer in the region. The expansion of the stadium was necessitated by a surge in the performance of the football team FC Heidenheim 1846, which was promoted two years running - from the fifth division to the third. A year in the reconstruction, the recently reopened stadium now has a capacity of 10,000 spectators, with the option of further expansion to 15,000.

The entire sound reinforcement system was replaced in the course of the work. As was the case with the Olympic Stadium in Berlin and the Allianz Arena in Munich, great importance was attached to the quality of the audio equipment in the VOIT

HD2 processor enhanced with Audinate's Dante<p>

Germany - Audinate reports that the new Dante enabled HD2 loudspeaker processor from Four Audio for wiil be shown at ProLight+Sound. The HD2 is a high end 4-in 8-out loudspeaker management system with advanced features such as FIR filtering with high frequency resolution down to the lowest frequencies and a dynamic input range of 135 dB.

Rainer Thaden, Four Audio's managing director comments, "Instead of emulating familiar IIR crossovers with FIR filters, we use measurements of the speakers and do the inverse of what the speaker does. You can make the complete system of speaker and controller phase linear, even down to the lowest frequencies. Of course, all kinds of familiar IIR crossovers can be used, too."

USA - HK Audio's Elements modular sound reinforcement system is now shipping in the US.. Elements enables users to easily put together a system suitable for every situation using just six easy-to-combine components. TiMax SoundHub & Tracker at ProLight + Sound

Germany - Out Board will be at Frankfurt Pro-Light + Sound demonstrating the TiMax SoundHub S-Version's combination of sound effects editing and management with comprehensive showcontrol functionality. Aimed at theatre and live events sound designers, the new S-Version features include multitrack Timeline cue programming, clip editing, looping, timeslip, volume-profiling and archiving, plus the waveform-based delay-pan programming pioneered by TiMax.

TiMax SoundHub will be demonstrated alongside the TiMax Tracker performer tracking system which follows presenters, actors, attraction visitors and conference delegates to control audio localisation, playback, lighting and media servers. Alcons looks to the future in Frankfurt

Germany - Prolight+Sound 2011 sees Alcons Audio showing the production version of its latest pro-ribbon line array system, two new sub-bass cabinets, giving a glimpse of a new product group and playing a key role in the show's 3D Live In Concert experience.

Designed to be able to deliver the same SPL as equivalent products in the mid-size line array category, but with 15dB less distortion, the Alcons LR24 pro ribbon system utilises the company's pro-ribbon technology "to set a new benchmark in terms of SPL, projection control and sound quality".

Also on show will be two new subwoofers, the BC543 and BQ211. Designed for both permanent and portable ground-stacked applications, the BC543 offers a high output, with tight and accurate bass response.
