Canada / UK - Sennheiser UK has announced the launch of the Adamson Spektrix, a lightweight, compact line array system from Canadian loudspeaker manufacturer Adamson Systems Engineering of Toronto.

Spektrix, weighing in at just 32kg, is a rigid, trapezoidal, 11-ply Baltic birch compact cabinet, loaded with a proprietary Adamson 1.4" neodymium HF compression driver, mounted on an Adamson patented wave shaping drive module. The system also delivers greatly increased efficiency in the 100-200Hz frequency range and low frequency extension via two Adamson Neodymium 8" kevlar drivers. These respectively produce rich, mid-bass via the Spektrix Band Pass Network and direct radiated LF - thus creating a bi-amped acoustic 3-way cabinet. All drive assembly components are weatherproof and are protected by a 16-gauge cold pressed steel grille.

The addition of Spektrix Sub cabinets produces an array capable of operation down to 35Hz and the entire system has also been designed for extremely efficient rigging using a new Adamson's proprietary Revolving Disk Rigging system. Enabling safe, fast and simple installation by a single operator with the help of the Y-axis Shooter software, the recessed hardware is hidden when arrayed, and is adjustable using a logarithmic-indexed rotating disk.

The Adamson Spektrix is supplied with lightweight, rugged aluminium dolly boards, capable of carrying up to four cabinets, and an optional aluminium rigging frame equipped with a single, threaded pick-up point featuring an industrial inclinometer for precise angular adjustment.
