Like the rest of the range, DX5 is a coaxial loudspeaker. The coaxial arrangement of the drivers provides a wide and perfectly coherent sound field even in nearfield applications. The choice of a 'pure' coaxial configuration (no horn) and acoustic baffling with no side flanks limits distortion and diffraction. As a result the DX5 features a very high level of sonic accuracy and optimized gain before feedback for "studio monitoring" type performance.
Characterized by its ultra-compact format and exceptional performance characteristics, DX5 is is especially suited to all types of nearfield listening applications including stage monitoring; distributed systems; delay or in-fill for high-power PA systems; as well as for sound reinforcement for small and mid-sized venues in its own right, with or without low frequency reinforcement, and more.
Its compact dimensions and crystalline clarity make it ideal for applications where discretion needs to be combined with high quality sound reproduction. DX5 is particularly suitable for front-fill applications as it displays an exceedingly low profile when used horizontally.
