UK - Behind the Scenes UK, the newly launched charity that aims to provide financial support to entertainment technology professionals when they are ill or injured, is calling on companies and individuals to send their annual Christmas cards via Card Aid this year.

Card Aid has been helping charities increase their funds from the sale of their Christmas cards for over 30 years and John Simpson, Chair of Behind the Scenes UK, believes proceeds from the sale of Christmas Cards via the Card Aid Website will really make a difference to Behind the Scenes which only launched in the UK in October.

"Sending Christmas cards is a long held tradition and Card Aid allows us to keep the spirit of Christmas alive - as cards can be purchased online, either in the form of a pack of cards or as e-cards which can be sent on a pay per click basis. Whilst we are happy to accept donations in lieu of companies sending Christmas cards why not use Card Aid?"

The Card Aid website https://www.cardaid.co.uk allows you to customise your cards, either using an image of your own or choosing from a range of fantastic designs. Add your own greeting, message and logo, then nominate a charity to benefit from the sale of the cards.

John continued, "Every penny we receive is vitally important to Behind the Scenes UK. We are not yet in a position to start granting- we need to ensure there are adequate funds available and we desperately want to be able to help the first person who turns to us for assistance - it could happen any day to any one of us."

He concluded, "Behind the Scenes is a registered charity No. 1,159,168. To order your cards on the Card Aid website, please quote this number to ensure that you support this very deserving cause this Christmas. We hope 2015 results in a happy and healthy new year for everyone but we need this fund in place to help anyone who may face an uphill struggle in the months and years ahead."
