USA - Reinforcing its position as a complete provider of state of the art audio networking technology, Biamp Systems, announced new additions at the NSCA (Booth #2623) to its Digital Audio Platform, that take its already impressive functionality to a new level. The addition of the TI-2 telephone interface card and the EXPI-D and EXPO-D digital I/O expanders enhance the power of the AudiaFLEX while maintaining its ease of use.

"The addition of these new technologies gives contractors and consultants ways to cost effectively expand the depth of functionality of a truly networked audio system while ensuring that it can be used at any level of facility," said Matt Czyzewski, VP of Technical Operations, Biamp Systems. "Now with the use of digital I/O expanders, our clients can accommodate the growing number of digital devices that need to be hooked to our networked systems, while the power of the TI-2 puts teleconferencing and audio networking at the operator's fingertips."

The new EXPI-D and EXPO-D expand the number of digital I/Os from the base of the user's current AudiaFLEX system. These expanders will accept digital signals that are prevalent in live sound applications, press feeds, consumer CDs and DVD players, any number of digital devices that are an increasing part of any commercial installation.

The expanders provide 8 channels of CobraNet capability and 8 channels of AES 3 (input or output). Consumer and professional gear can be interfaced with these expanders using the SPDIF or TOSLINK connectors. Also featured are eight channels of Logic input.

Further escalating the capabilities of the AudiaFLEX is the introduction of the TI-2 Telephone Interface card that offers not only the telephone hybrid function, but also provides interface and complete interaction with the phone system. This makes AudiaFLEX the true facility hub, replacing the classic conferencing hub as it can optimally handle 24 phone lines in one AudiaFLEX. The TI-2 will detect and answer incoming calls, initiate outgoing calls, execute speed dial, re-dial and flash functions.

Yet, it goes beyond this to offer such advanced features as line echo cancellation and noise suppression. Caller ID reception, call progress decoding, and line status detection are all powerful features of the system. Additionally, touch-tone decoding opens the door to system control of the AudiaFLEX via the phone, including dial-in applications such as paging.

With the new additions of EXPI-D, EXPO-D and TI-2, the Biamp's Digital Audio Platform continues to expand the horizons for contractors and consultants who are looking to provide their clients with the state-of-the-art in true digital audio networking and control.
